(+) budget friendly, nice host(+) appox 20 minutes to Semenggoh Nature Reservecon’s:(-) complicated transportation situation. Must have own transportation or it will be difficult to access the city - approx 45mins drive(-) mold throughout the building(-) must obtain all potable water bottle-by-bottle from nearest stores(-) constant smell of dead, decaying rodents outside* 1 large rat observed decaying in the pond and 1 field mouse observed decaying outside of the kitchen window.* house mice heard running around every night(-) air-con essentially does not cool the room at all. Hosts has it set to 26 with no remote given. We used our universal remote to change the temperature and observed the unit cutooff when the temperature was changed.(-) decaying walls, floors, the exterior paint stains clothes and skin when touched.(-) portions of flooring deform 3-4 cm when pressure is applied.(-) portions of the floor slipped when constant pressure was applied causing an abrupt gravitational shift.(-/+) isolated location.(+) close to major road.(-) almost constant road noise.(-) bed frame has been weakened by wood destroying organisms. Bed broke on day 3 - host repaired, but the bed was extremely uncomfortable & shaky as it was made of cheap plywood.(+) very little city light pollution.(+) very dark skies(+) many bird species were heard, not too many were seen as they remain elusive.(-) complete lack of any cleaning products available during a 2 week stay.(-) three holes noted in the insect screens located at the 2 windows, which allowed for the constant intrusion of mosquitoes, moths, and other pests during the first 2 nights.The guesthouse is extremely deteriorated & there is no routine maintenance or cleaning being done.Would not return & would not recommend to anyone I know.

We spent six days at Roger and Rendai guesthouse and enjoyed everything ! The guesthouse is spacious and has nice surroundings, Roger and Rendai are lovely hosts and there are plenty of natural places to see around. Thank you for this wonderful experience !

You can catch your own fish for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Of course, you have to bring your own fishing equipment and cook the fish yourself. Nice quiet place to watch stars at night
