A Villa Resort - Gili Air

From a mid-thirties australian couple.There are 8 villas, 4 each side of a split pathway, each with the pool facing east or west. This gives each pool (we assume based on our villa) around 2-3 hours of direct sun during either the morning or afternoon. The pool areas are still warm and sunny for the times that you do not get direct sun. If you want 100% sun, walk a small distance to the beach. You’re on a tropical island.The villas are a 5 minute walk to the east beaches, and around 15-20 minutes to the west beaches where you will enjoy stunning sunsets. We did not wake early enough to comment on the sun rises. The beds were clean, large, and maintained daily. Sheets are changed at your request. As this is an island, there is not the convenience of commercial laundries for daily sheet changes. Completely understandable.The staff are wonderful. We were lucky enough to spend time when Jun was working there, whose friendly smiles, genuine curiosity about how our day was, and nothing-too-hard attitude with requests. Each of the staff were fantastic, but Jun, if we had to pick, was a favourite.The location of the villas is also well placed on the island, in that they are some distance from the mosque. If you are unfamiliar with the lovely sounds of the call to prayer, you may wake for the first 5am call. The villas are well soundproofed though, so you are unlikely to wake again or be disturbed by general sounds of neighbours.If you are considering staying close to the mosque, consider that.Bicycles can be rented from reception. Tours can be booked from reception. The daily breakfast is fine, and we had the fruit bowl with granola every morning. Simply select from the breakfast menu and let them know what time you would like it brought to the villa. There are eggs etc available. A bike is fine for one day. Try it for one day before you book it for your entire stay.The shower/bath/toilet is outside, but the staff bring mosquito coils each night. One for the bathroom area and one for the pool area. We had very few mosquito bites but, again, tropical island.Water is provided by a water cooler, which the staff fill with purified water. It dispenses boiling and chilled water. It never ran out for us.The photos provided by the providers are accurate enough that I won’t provide my own.

A shame, we paid 25 days before through booking, when we arrived at the establishment they told us that this payment was just a reservation, we spoke with booking and they told us that we had already paid. They kept saying no, we argued continuously for 3 days and finally we had to pay again and no one has returned our money. The manager was super rude, spoke terribly and didn't let us leave, the other workers were very good people, but a shame of places knowing that if they have this type of problem they should solve it themselves, since it happened to more people.

Excellent or rather unforgettable stay in this villa! Everything is perfect !For the fearful or rather the timid if there are insects it's normal in the heart of the island in the middle of nature anyway you know where you are venturing when you come to Indonesia!The welcome of the staff ✅Very smiling and warm ✅If you have the slightest problem they are available and attentive ✅Very clean bedding and sanitary facilities ✅TV with Netflix (English or Indonesian but we don’t stop there, there’s YouTube) ✅Wifi ✅Floating breakfast on request ✅If you want to ride a free bike in front of reception ✅Fridge with various drinks/sweets which cost between 0.70 cents for a 33cl can of coke which you will have to pay at the end of your stay ✅Anti-flying insect device on the terrace as well as an anti-mosquito socket inside your room ✅Salt water pool (Sea water) ✅The body products for washing smell really good compared to certain hotels which offer lower quality soaps ✅We paid €260, or 4.4 million Rupiah, for just 3 nights; such a stay in France (Nice, Cannes, etc.) would cost you 4 times the price.I advise you to book quickly an opportunity not to be missed, I hope that my comments will help you in your research!Come on, team!

They were supportive after we left! We were threatened by the manager of this hotel who wanted to disclose our passport information on Facebook! It's a shame and it's extremely serious!! …

I injured myself and couldn't secure my reservation because I couldn't walk or get to the island, the establishment was super understanding and accepted my cancellation request free of charge the day before my arrival planned while my reservation was non-refundable. Thank you thank you 🙏🏽

Private villa in a very quiet area not far from the port (about 5 minutes on foot)Friendly and attentive staff.Great for a romantic getaway!

Not worth the money.We had booked 2 nights here, the first night the air conditioning was leaking so much that it overflowed a whole bucket of water. It was extremely damp in the cabin, and there was a musty smell. The staff were very friendly and apologetic. The next day they cleaned the air conditioning and it worked again.The place is out among the locals, where there are no street lights in the evening and chickens crowing in the morning. There were many mosquitoes, but it was nice that the hotel has mosquito smoke things against them.The breakfast was adequate. The coffee didn't taste good to us.We think there is a lack of storage space, hangers, places to dry swimwear, towels etc. The bedroom is very spacious.The place may need a renovation, as many things are worn out.

We stayed at A villa for about 6 days which was unforgettable days. We loved our stay. We loved the private pool right outside the room, loved the big spacious & luxurious feeling room, loved how clean things were and netflix but the gold thing was the wonderful staff, who couldn't do enough to make our stay perfect. We also loved having some Bintang in the fridge 😍Would like to thank you Mr. JUN for being so helpful any time of our stay.

The villa was really lovely! The breakfasts are also really good. Everything was otherwise perfect, only at night it was a little hot (the air conditioning was not enough for such a big room).
