The hotel location is only 100 meters from Banyuwangi Kota ex Karangasem Station, quite a walk. But this location is on the southern edge of the city, not in the city center.The shape of a traditional Osing wooden house cottage. A calm atmosphere surrounded by gardens and trees, the land is contoured. When the morning is cool, there are birds singing.The room is quite spacious with 2 single beds with mosquito nets. There is a fenced front terrace and table chairs for hanging out for coffee like at home.Clean bathroom with ceramic walls, hot and cold shower hose. Bar soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste and clean towels are provided.There is AC, there is no TV, there is bottled water, there is a welcome drink, there is WiFi.No breakfast.Prices can be cheap via Ag***, Red*****.Around the station there are people who rent motorbikes daily. You can ask about tour places in Banyuwangi.Find easy food, stalls are lined up in front of the station.The hotel owner (Mr Untung) is friendly.Slight improvements:The AC is not cold enough.Because it is difficult to regulate the heat and cold of the shower, mix hot and cold water in the shower barrel. When the shower was on there was a gas smell in the bathroom.If there was a TV for entertainment & information it would be better because the hotel is on the edge of town, far from the crowds. Your entertainment as a solo backpacker is just looking around the train station, eating and drinking coffee at the stall in front of the station, then at the end you open your cell phone too.The hotel is not visible from the outside because it is 10 meters from the main road, has a high fence, there is no sign on the hotel fence/gate.The hotel entrance was made permanent and the hotel signage was enlarged to make it more convincing.

In terms of location, it is quite representative, especially for families who use public transportation, especially trains. The new cottages were built around 2021 and are located in the Banyuwangi City Station area (Karang Asem). What's more interesting is that Jala Sutra Cottages was built on about one hectare of land, originally a fruit orchard. Some plants with quite large trees are maintained, so they can provide coolness in the Cottages environment. The manager even gives guests the freedom to pick fruit for free.

highly recommended. Under 300 thousand you can stay in a place that is like an Osing house, beautiful with lots of plants, can have breakfast and is also very close to the station. Will stay here again if I go to BWI

This was our favorite place we stayed at during our Java trip.We arrived late from the train station, so our host (Rahmat, I believe) had been worried we might've missed our stop. He kept track of us through WA and actually came to pick us up with his younger brother, and brought us to the property. It's only a two-minute walk from the station, but in the dark it could be tricky to find. We were moved by their hospitality. We had many pleasant conversations with the owner, who speaks English well. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about the local culture, and in turn we shared our own stories with them.The property is gated, and felt private and secure (Banyuwangi is a safe town anyway). There are three cottages and an expansive garden full of local fruits, which Untan will be happy to show you. While we relaxed on the porch in the morning, Intan brought us breakfast and tea, which we were pleasantly surprised to get.The room is very comfortable and kept clean. They provided towels, toothbrushes and toothpaste, soap and toilet paper. The water heater was working well, water pressure is fine. Our bed had a mosquito net too, which was very helpful. They even had a drying rack on the porch, we do laundry every night when traveling so this was handy. AC kept the room cool. The big cottage does have some open patterns in the wall, allowing more bugs to come in and is harder to cool.We had only booked this place as a quick stop between here and Ijen, and ended up feeling so rejuvenated and happy here, we wanted to stay and relax all day.If you're stopping in Banyuwangi, book this place!

You'll never find a better place to stay and exchange, here there's the sweetest people of banyuwangi waiting for you. Open minded, good hearted and interesting.Also, It was clean and there even was a soap, toothpaste and toothbrush.

Alhamdulillah, my 2 stays at Jalasutra Homestay were always satisfying. The facilities, service, views are the best. With a traditional design typical of Osing Banyuwangi, it creates a rural atmosphere but remains modern because the room facilities are equipped with air conditioning and a water heater for bathing. The room is clean, luxurious with a Javanese feel, there is a hot shower, toiletries are provided, mineral water is available, the room is quite spacious with 2 beds, very comfortable for resting after a long journey, cheap price with these facilities, oh yes, motorbike rental nearby, fixed booking for backpackers
