Hidden gemI absolutely loved my stay at Matahari Villa (visnu)Having this place for over a month I've gotten to appreciate this area of Ubud. It's quiet, easy to navigate and a nice backdoor into the Ubud Centre.There is no traffic noise, little interaction with other guests and top notch breakfast service. The cleaning is also thorough and detailed.Will be staying here whenever back in Ubud next and recommending to all friends and family.Thanks again staff. Especially Wayan and Dede. Suk suma for your kindness 🙏

Lovely spot away from the noise of the road. Super friendly staff including Rosmi who offers excellent massages. The villa we had was in great shape and the rice field stunning to wake up to. Location is a walk away from food or a quick Grab from anything in Ubud.

We have just had our third stay at Matahari Villas. We like it because it’s a bit removed from the centre of Ubud, which whilst we also love, is nice to retreat from. It is peaceful and beautifully positioned overlooking rice fields with mountains in the background. Palm trees, infinity pool, air conditioning, wonderful staff, delicious breakfasts... This time we stayed in ‘Wisnu’ which has a private plunge pool which we enjoyed as well as the larger pool.It is a short 10 minute ride from Ubud and you can ask the staff to drive or rent a car or scooter cheaply. There is a nice spa nearby for massages. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

Matahari Villas is a wonderful place to rejuvenate and unwind. Surrounded by coconut trees and frenjapanies, overlooking rice paddies with an infinity beautiful pool, you really couldn't ask for much more. Staff very polite and welcoming, a cooked breakfast each morning and just a short drive to Monkey forest. Massages and lunch arranged easily in our private villa. Well done Matahari. Thanks to staff for making our stay so comfortable and relaxing. We'll be back!

This is the most tranquil, relaxed holiday I have ever had. Just the beautiful surrounds of my villa and the complex, with peace and quiet was enough, but the beautiful polite staff topped off the experience for me. Nothing is too much trouble for them to organise and deliver. I will never get bored of having my breakfast cooked for me in my villa, and four masseurs arriving at once so my friends and I could have massages all at the same time. With airport pickup included, there was not much more to organise except whether to have your swim in the gorgeous pool before or after your breakfast. I fell in love with Matahari Villas, and I will return. Thanks again.

What an absolute delight. I just spent 8 amazing days at the Matahari Villas with 3 other friends. We loved it so much, we have already booked again for August 2020. Made (pronounced Maday) is the manager on site and he and his lovely staff took such great care of us. The villas are beautiful, amidst the tropical trees and frangipanis and the infinity pool overlooking the rice paddies. Highly recommend booking into the Matahari Villas for your next stay in Ubud.

A wonderful rejuvenating holiday. Gorgeous air conditioned villa, lush surrounds, beautiful pool overlooking the rice paddies, yummy breakfasts cooked by the staff, massages at the Villa....arrived tired, stressed from everyday life and left rejuvenated. Well done Matahari Villas and a huge ‘Thank you’ to the amazing staff. I have already rebooked for 2020!

Group of 6 well-maintained villas, cleaning is done every day, and two people come to prepare breakfast in your villa.The superb mirror swimming pool with a view of the rice fields.The villas are on the outskirts of Ubud, not too close for the noise, not too far to go there several times a day, 5 minutes by scooter from the city center or 15 minutes on foot. 20 min by scooter in the evening during rush hours with traffic jams.We tested the taxi and rental of scooters from the owner, the prices were cheaper than in the center, the same for the laundromat.We recommend

After spending 2 months at Matahari Villas it is definitely a worthwhile stay no matter how long you plan to stay in Bali.Located about 5-10 mins by car/scooter to central Ubud it is well located to escape the hustle and bustle in what is and should be a relaxing part of the world. Still you do need your own transport or have a taxi on call to get around. The local village is very traditional and it is a unique experience to spend time in this area.The Villa we stayed in 'Padi Villa' is a well appointed 2 bedroom villa with a small deck overlooking the Lodtunah Rice Paddies (Subak). The bathroom is massive and it has a self-contained kitchen with a deck right on the rice paddies.The area is spacious and has a large open roof keeping things cool. The pool is located next door and an excellent way to cool off in the heat of the day.The staff at Matahari Villas are amazing and there is a cleaning service everyday with breakfast included for as little as $5 a day including an omelette and fresh fruit platter.The main caretaker is Made and he can arrange taxis, tours and anything else you need during your stay. We booked via Airbnb.Warung 9 and a Usha Cafe are at the end of the street if you need to get some local lunch or dinner. Enjoy your stay!

A wonderful place to relax and if you feel like the hustle and bustle, Ubud is about 20 minutes away on foot (walk through the rice fields) or 5 minutes away by taxi or scooter.Made and his staff are great hosts.We are happy to have found this place. November 2016
