A nice accommodation with a friendly operator. The trips to the elephants and orangutans booked at the accommodation worked out great. The old rooms are quite simple, but atmospheric. It's nice if you have both and can use the balcony alone.

Great accommodation and a really nice tour. Fireman and Ferdi are the best guides (2-day tour). The food at the property is very good! Was very fun! Transfer service worked smoothly.

We had a great time at obiwans place. The hotel room was very clean and we had a perfect view on the Bukit Lawang river. We also did a 2 day, 1 night jungle trekking with indra valley Inn. Fireman was our guide and was absolutely awesome. The jungle trekking experience with fireman was one of our highlights so far and we saw 9 Orang utans, very close to us. Can definitely recommend, we will miss you guys!

This is the 2nd time we have come to Bukit Lawang. The Indra Valley Inn is a great place where you feel safe. We were traveling with a teenager and young children and everything went well. Obiwan is an owner who listens to his customers. Even after Bukit they helped us with our trip. BIG FAVORITE for Firmam, an extraordinary employee and guide who is very attentive to children and also adults. We felt like we were part of the family.

Nice place to spend the night and book a jungle tour. Did a two-day jungle tour 5 years ago, now returned for a four-day jungle tour. Definitely worth it! Unfortunately we saw few monkeys, but the dedication of the guides made up for it.

Indra Valley is amazing! Staying here feels like you’re part of a big family. Obiwan and his staff are so friendly, understanding, hilarious and very clear about rules and expectations. There are some reviews complaining about the fact that he only allows guests to book the jungle tour through him, but this is purely for safety reasons. There are a lot of people and companies that are not as experienced or safe, and with no offices, there is nowhere to complain or warn other travellers about bad experiences. Obiwan cares about all of his guests and treated us like long time friends from the minute we walked in. When I undoubtedly return, I will be staying at Indra Valley again!

DO NOT STAY HERE. The owner Obiwan can turn nasty and threatening. Very shallow front but if you complain watch out. Ended up staying at another place and doing my money on this place. Like others here I got an email about booking a tour with them. Look at his responses to the people that have given him a bad review.

We came to Indra Valley, at Bukit Lawang in Sumatra with our 8 year old son and did the 3 day trek in the jungle with Obiwan's team.The whole trip was amazing. The trekking is superb, such beautiful places, the camps were great comfy and well prepared, always camping by the water so we could swim every afternoon and enjoy lovely evenings after a tiring day of trek, the guides and in general the whole Indra Valley team is so nice, friendly, the meals they prepare are delicious, and were spot on when seeing wild life as it is not so easy to spot it and really easy to miss!We were very lucky, watched the orangutans, gibons, hornbills, camaleons, turtles, snakes... honestly was unforgettable.

A few seconds after booking, the owner contacts me on WhatsApp, and tells me that I have to book the activities with them, (Trekking etc…) otherwise he will not accept me in his establishment even though I have already reserved my Trek long before. I find this practice fraudulent, especially since nothing is specified on its Booking page. Of course, my account was charged instantly, and I find myself in a deadlock for reimbursement... owner who is only looking to make money. TO RUN AWAY!!!!

Lovely riverside hotel in the centre of the tourist strip in Bukit Lawang. Clean rooms and bathrooms with firm but comfortable beds. Our room ( Room JV3) had a strong fan and excellent cross ventilation. Big balcony overlooking the river and jungle opposite. Nice spot for breakfast down stairs. Plenty off good eating spots near by - we recommend the Wild River just 100m away towards the bridge. Nice helpful staff with excellent English.

After the booking, the owner wrote to us that due to the fact that we have reserved trekking tour from different that his company, we’re unable to stay at his place.

The owner - Obiwan - wrote to us after booking a stay, that he does not allow stays of people who bought trips not from him (as an intermediary). Of course, there is no mention of this in the accommodation offers, and it is hardly surprising - certainly the portals where accommodation is advertised would not allow it. This is very concerning practice, the owner is simply looking for a way to get an extra penny out of his guests, forcing them to cancel their reservation.
