I skipped this guest house without having read the reviews and so I was a little scared because bad things were being said but quite frankly they are top notch I recommend 200% top service. He also takes care of the laundry and takes care of transportation between different locations. For the tracking, nothing to say, we were spoiled very lucky to have seen around 7 orangutans and a multitude of different species of monkey and animals of all kinds, restaurant at the top!

The rooms are spacious and clean. Wonderful beds!The downside is that the shower is cold, but with the warm climate that is not a disaster. Breakfast is tasty.Good price/quality ratio.They offer great service with transport from the airport and to the next destination.

I agree with the other (negative) reviews. DO NOT BOOK!!!We arrived in Bukit around 8:00 p.m. and decided to have dinner with IDA Guesthouse. At check-in we were asked by the owner's wife if we wanted to go trekking with them, we said no and said that we had already booked with Sumatra Orangutan Explore. She took note of this and took our food order.When we were ready the owner came and asked us when we wanted to start the trekking tomorrow. We repeated our statement that we have already booked with Sumatra Orangutan Explore. He then became angry and told us that we had to move out of his hotel immediately. It was now 9:30 p.m. and it started to rain heavily. He simply didn't care. Through luck and the help of locals, we spontaneously found somewhere else.Conclusion: DO NOT BOOK, the owner is lying and doesn't care about any guests. We have never experienced anything like this on all our travels. Hands off!Ps: Trekking at Sumatra Orangutan Explore is a must! Infinitely nice and helpful people, just a dream!

One of the best accommodations we've had on all our trips so far! The complex is beautifully designed and clean. The staff are absolutely great and everyone is incredibly helpful and friendly! We booked a Jungle Trek directly through the accommodation, which I can DEFINITELY recommend to anyone! And the best thing about the accommodation was our host, Muhdi took care of everything, from organising transport to the Jungle Trek and all sorts of other issues. I got sick during my stay and we were able to easily extend from 3 days to a week and of course Muhdi took us to the pharmacy and translated for us. Definitely again!

I have stayed with a friend and we had an amazing time at the guest house! The food at the Restaurant is really good, the staff is amazing and very helpful (staff from the homestay and the trekking guides)I would totally recommend staying here.We stayed one night, then went to the jungle for 3D/2N, then we stayed another night at the homestay.

Guesthouse maybe the room was well-kept, but the boss was not nice. This made me feel uncomfortable there. People who do not use trekking immediately are treated differently. What can be noticed. That's why I don't recommend it. No daily water and sometimes paper.

Very bad experience. We had booked for one night, but when we arrived we were told that everything was full. However, we had received a confirmation email the day before, as well as a WhatsApp message from the manager the same morning. She wasn't there when we arrived, so we called her and she straight up told us we couldn't stay. We tried to find out more but she hung up on us!I absolutely do not recommend!

NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!Were violently thrown out of our room. We had booked through booking, he asked us to cancel the booking online and he gave us the money back in cash.We walk away, looking for another hostel, he follows us to ask for the money back. He got really angry, not normal!Definitely not recommended! Rooms also looked anything but clean! We have also heard a lot of bad things about jungle trekking locally!Book with another organization. We went to Sumatra Orangutan Explore! Very satisfied, helpful people, well organized trekking! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Amazing place to sleep and eat on your stay in Bukit Lawang! The room is spacious, has a fan and a large bed with mosquito repellent! The restaurant has a variety of foods and affordable prices! The owner organized the trek for 2 days and 1 night in the jungle watching orangutans and we were able to see many! 100% recommended place!

We were a bit afraid of this stay due to... bad reviews.These are not hotel rooms as we are used to in Europe. The room was clean and you can shower reasonably well. The air conditioning works a little, certainly not optimally.The staff was friendly and helpful to us.We booked the jungle tour through our driver, perhaps he booked it at the hotel.A lot is written about people who have been kicked out of their hotel room and/or not allowed in. This story is true, we saw and heard a group of 5 people who were not welcome. She wanted to do a jungle tour, but tried to negotiate the price.
