Incredible accomodation in the middle of the Jungle with amazing views. Bobi and Vlada were really flexible and extremely helpful during our stay and plans. They also shared the passion for the jungle and their SUMECO project to protect it, which was really inspiring how many animals they have already saved, over 500!.We also took the Jungle trekking 2D/1N with Mizi, my jungle brother, and supported by Padli our guardian angel. We learned a lot in this unique experience from Mizi's wisdom. We also took a trip to Halaban to see wild elephants, all the way with Jackson and his great team. Great experience to understand the importance of ecoturism in Sumatra. We were happy to help a bit on their dream of making Halaban a protected area and a sustainable economy for local people.Absolutely recommended.

We had a great stay at Bukit Lawang Hill Resort. The four bedrooms are upstairs in a beautiful, large open wooden house, the view is exceptional! The village of Bukit Lawang is 10 minutes further down, on foot, but it is also possible to have breakfast/dinner there. We did the 2 days 1 night trek, it was fantastic, we saw different species of monkeys and the jungle is very beautiful! The guides Adit, Anto, Sugi are very friendly. The SUMECO association uses the income from this tourist activity, while respecting nature, to fight against poaching. It’s a great organization that needs to be supported!

A different way to discover the Gunung Leuser jungle. At Bobi, which manages the SEMECO association, you can not only go on treks in the jungle to discover the Orangutans, but you will allow its action to continue. Bobi fights against wildlife trafficking. We did a two-night trek with Haddid and Midji, who were very attentive. They do their best to help you observe the animals.

We arrived at about 9:30 pm, and it seems like there was some kind of misunderstanding about the room, because Bobi (one of the owners) told us he was going to drive down and meet us to talk. But immediately he was extremely confrontational and rude and aggressive with us. He appeared to be confrontational and aggressive with the staff as well. We were so scared by this initial meeting that we looked into staying elsewhere. We ultimately decided to stay the night with the bukit lawang hill resort, however. His website was not well organized, and we had a hard time understanding and finding information about the tour that we needed. Apparently guests can only stay at the rainforest hotel if they pay for a tour, which he did not tell us before hand. The 1 day tour we did was very lovely, with amazing fruit and lunch and very mellow guides. However we were not really told about the rafting at the end of the tour. It was great to raft, but no one told us before we did the tour what we would be doing. The cost of the tour is rather high, at 60 euro for the tour + 1 night in the room, per person. The other guests at the resort confirmed that Bobi was also unnecessarily aggressive with them. They mentioned that he really needs to have someone else interact with guests. But aside from interacting with Bobi, we loved our tour, seeing the orangutans and Tomas langur monkeys, and the food they provided us. The tour guides were somewhat knowledgeable, but not as knowledgeable as the website promised. The guides smoked throughout our tour, in the jungle.Overall, we would recommend the tour, with some caveats. You cannot stay there if you are planning on doing another tour, and he was not clear with us about that.

Best place to stay in Bukit Lawang. It has amazing views, lovely staff and tasty food. You can also book treks through the hotel. The owner Bobi also rescues animals being taken from the jungle and sold illegally, so if you book through this hotel your money is also benefiting these wild animals ☺️Laundry, breakfast, lunch, dinner, transfers etc all also available here. Recommend ☺️

A good place to get away from people, or, on the contrary, to get to know them closer. Both introversial me and my socially active, nice and extraversial friend liked the place a lot. People living there are very nice. …

I honestly cannot recommend this place enough! We initially only booked a two nights stay along with a two day jungle trek and ended up extending for even longer. …
