Katiet Beach Resort

I had the absolute pleasure of recently spending a week at Katiet Beach Resort.First and foremost, a big thank you to Gaby and Kadu who are the most wonderful and gracious hosts, and made this solo traveller feel most welcome. The staff are just as wonderful, from Eric the surf guide/barman, the ladies in the kitchen producing top shelf food (and plenty of it), and the cleaning crew. The cabin I stayed in was very clean, spacious, air-conditioned, and nicely appointed with local decorations. The bed was very comfortable and made up daily, and the separate bathroom with hot water shower was a bonus not always found in the Mentawais. The balcony out front of the cabin had a nice day bed to sit on check the surf in comfort, or have a comfortable afternoon nap in the breeze. The bar/restaurant was the hub of social activity, catching up with everybody at dinner time to talk over the day and the surf. The seating is most comfortable with a couple couches, cane futon chair, or sit up at the bar for a chat with Eric. Also of note are the additional amenities such as outdoor shower, multi-purpose area (massage/exercise), snorkel, and kayak. I also have to say that the grounds have the nicest grass to walk on, not an easy thing to grow on a sand base, but Gaby and Kadu have managed this wonderfully. The location would have to be the best in Katiet, being able to look straight into the barrel at HT's from you balcony or the bar/restaurantThis was without a doubt, one of my best stays. I am certainly looking to book a return journey to Katiet Beach Resort and highly recommend this be your choice when coming to Katiet.

I had the absolute privilege of staying with Gabi and Kadu at Katiet Beach Resort for 7 nights.Gabi and Kadu are the most wonderful and gracious hosts, along side fantastic and friendly staff (shout out to Eric, the kitchen ladies, and cleaners). Food was top shelf, delicious, and plenty of it. The bungalows are very comfortable, air-conditioned, very tidy, comfortable bed, hot shower, and nicely decorated with local materials. Perfect for an afternoon nap (and night time sleep too, obviously), or a relax on the deck with the most perfect position to look into the barrel at HT's.I highly recommend a stay at Katiet Beach Resort. Already looking at planning for a return visit early next year.

Amazing family experience at Katiet Resort. Privileged location in front of the Lances Right wave. Comfortable and very clean accommodation, comfortable beds. The food is of excellent quality, all the meals served were very tasty and very well served. Gabi, Kadu and the entire team were very kind and helpful. Nothing to complain about, we felt at home. We will definitely be back!

Both lindey and me had such a wonderfull time at katiet resort!Located right on the most beautifull beach, with a worldclass wave out front.The food was just amazing, and consumed at a big family table, what made it easy to connect with other guests and made for a really good friends and family vibe!Gaby the host was amazing! super friendly and helpfull.. and same goes for the lovely crew!We will definatly come back one day, and i can recommend this place to everyone!
