PROS: We are an American couple who stayed in Bali for 16 days and at 8 different locations during the months of late Aug-early Sept 2023. Out of these 8, this was by far our favorite spot! 'Made' was the host on site and C Andersen is also part owner (not on site). Not only did Made help us plan adventures out around Penida, but he also helped immerse us into his culture. Which is exactly what we were looking for! In fact, one night we spent hours on the village pier- hand fishing and talking about the Balinese culture with him. This was one of my favorite parts of our trip! We even had the privilege of meeting his family and eating fresh caught fish from the nearby reef.Aside from the amazing experiences we had with Made, we also thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Glamping property. It was clean and also made you feel one with nature. At night, you could hear the Tokay geckos, feel the soft breeze through the cabin, and see the moonlight shining off of the ocean surface. The cabin sits high up in the mountain with no one around, so we had the utmost privacy. However, I know they are planning on developing the areas around the property, so this may change in the future. I loved the outdoor bathroom and the fact that the cabin had no true walls (just roll up bamboo shades). The bed had netting, but the bugs weren't bad at all. The property also had strong Wifi. In the mornings, Made and his wife would bring a very yummy breakfast with either Nasi Goreng or Mie Goreng and fresh fruit. They also provided plenty of drinking water bottles, free of charge. The property also has it's own private pool- small but deep. The host provided us a bike & helmets to rent for the length of our stay- approx $4 usd/ day. It was older, but made it up the steep include to the property. Made also set up a taxi to/from the property to the port (~$20 each way). It was a about 45min-1 hr from the banjar nyuh port port.Overall, if you ever have the opportunity, you must stay here!CONS: The location was a little difficult to get to. The road was bumpy and at a steep incline. However, it was SO worth it!Make sure you get the exact GPS location from the host first, because the Google maps location of the property was incorrect. It took us up a very steep and awful road that the taxi driver was not happy with... Please learn from our mistakes and ask for coordinates first :)
