I spent a week at Gerebig. Great introduction to Bali. Ibu Kadek and all of the staff were so lovely. The breakfast is great. Location in Penestanan is fantastic. Pool great. I had a room without AC but didn't need it. My room was clean and affordable. Bathroom was only mid but I wasn't there for the bathrooms. Ibu Kadek arranged for my airport pickup which was a nice welcome as I arrived at 1am and it was nice to feel stress free and have someone take me to my room at the start of my vacation. Highly recommend Gerebig for an authentic Bali experience. Good restaurants and food nearby in the neighborhood. Faster to walk into Ubud center than to take a taxi/scooter. Hot tip: while adventuring in Ubud, take the Penestanan stairs or ask the driver to drop you off there so you don't have to sit in traffic getting into or out of the neighborhood .

Wonderful experience as soon as we arrived in Bali... the location, the quiet, the swimming pool, the greenery around. And the entire family of managers, who with kindness and honesty helped us make everything simple, from scooter rental to booking the ferry. Super❤️

This is an amazing place. Beautiful gardens. The rooms were spotlessly clean. The owners were fantastic. They arranged everything for us. Great breakfast. I would highly recommend it . The swimming pool is also fabulous. It's also very quiet.

We were unfortunate enough to visit while they were renovating the swimming pool, the rooms are fantastic, but we must have a pool, would be more suited to young people due to the off road access and vast layout and stairs, we moved on to an operating resort

Everything was perfect. Cleanliness, discretion, calm, breakfasts, friendliness of the staff, prices. I recommend this place. Not all bungalows have the same calm. Some have frogs singing in the evening.🫶🐸

Kadek and Wayan are completely delightful hosts who went above the call of duty to make sure I had a wonderful stay. Serene gardens. Lovely pool. Spacious rooms. Comfortable beds. Private verandahs. Quiet location. Close to great restaurants and yoga studios. 15-20 mins walk to the centre of Ubud.

Kadek's welcome to Gerebig was most heartwarming! I spent 7 nights in one of her upstairs compounds / rooms and had a lovely time there. Highlights were the gardens which were delightfully well maintained, the large pool with sunloungers, and my own private balcony with enough room to practice yoga in the sun in the morning. I've also enjoyed being so close to Alchemy and Yellow flower cafe for a week, whilst being tucked away far from the noise of the road. Kadek, thank you for your motherly embrace, for taking care of my laundry and sorting out me out with your brother as a trusted driver for my onward journey. Big love to you and family xx

Green oasis in very busy Ubud! Location great. In need of renovation. Pool okay👌 Breakfast okay👌 Relatively cheap for current Ubud prices. Great inexpensive restaurants right around the complex.Boss Kadek is friendly and always helpful. Special deals possible. Keep light patina included. 👍

Beautiful private bungalow, kids loved exploring the bungalow and the gardens. Beautiful pool and surrounds. The kids wanted to cancel the rest of our trip! Kadek, the owner is perfect - nice, helpful and leaves us to our privacy. Wonderful place, without being extravagant.

I loved staying here so much! Kadek, Wayan and family are so lovely, they made me feel at home. I stayed there twice during my 2 months living in Bali. The first was my intial stay in Ubud for ten days for a retreat in the same area and the second was after my stay in another part of Bali, I wanted to come back to Ubud, I came straight back to Gerebig Bungalows and Kadek welcomed me back with open arrms. I stayed another two weeks before heading off to Australia.At Gerebig I felt safe, at ease and happy. Accomodation is affordable, breakfast is plentiful, employees are lovely, the grounds are lush and the family really take you in making you feel part of the family too. Plus Gerebig is situated quite far back from the roads so looking out your window all you see is jungle, all you hear are the animals.But its so close to restaurants and lovely shops too and only a 15 minute walk (5 minute by transport) to the central part of the city. Gerebig is also a short walk (via the quaint back streets) to Bin Tang super market.Its close to all amenaties but not too close. You want a bit of quiet and privacy and around a beautiful family who will take care of you? Gerebig is the place for you! This is a family ran business as well, so you're helping a local family earn a living.
