Xanadu Village is truly an extraordinary surf retreat! The rooms are cozy and beautifully designed, creating a serene atmosphere that feels like home.The surf experience here is exceptional. With access to some of the best waves, the knowledgeable instructors cater to all levels, ensuring that everyone has a great time in the water. I loved the video analysis, which helped me improve my skills and learn proper technique for cross stepping.The retreat’s ambiance is just as impressive. The lush gardens and tranquil vibe provide the perfect backdrop for unwinding after a day on the waves. The breakfast is fantastic—fresh and flavourful, with plenty of healthy options.Overall, Xanadu Village is an amazing place to surf, relax, and connect with nature. I can't recommend it enough for anyone looking to enhance their surfing skills while enjoying the beautiful Lombok!Can't wait to come back!! 😍😍😍

Wow wow wow! Been to a few surf houses now and Xanadu is by far the most beautiful and organised! All the staff ranging from Maya, Leah, the wonderful housekeeping and kitchen team (breakfast was to die for every day!) and of course the wonderful lads who took us out in the surf each day. Adi, Restut, Sava, Amir and Duggy thankyou so much, absolute rockstars. Such a great week with such a great group and team of staff. 5 stars. Will be back! If you’re looking for a longboard camp, don’t skip Xanadu!

I spent a week at Xanadu and was absolutely delighted. Everything was perfectly organized, the surf instructors were highly skilled, and I felt completely comfortable throughout my stay. The daily yoga sessions with Brayn were also very pleasant and relaxing.

What a dreamy week at Xanadu has been!From minute one Maya and the team was so welcoming. The shared space and pool area are kept clean at all times. Rooms are serviced daily and beds are super comfy. Super well located in the heart of Kuta, everything you need is in a walking distance.Delicious food every morning, abundant breakkies and best banana bread in town.Good daily afternoon yoga led by Bryan, perfect for shoulder stretch after the long paddles!Surf lessons.. woah! Simply everything perfect. From day 1 Sam (our host) asked each one of us our goal for the week, and I loved she makes you stick to it and improve by the end of it. All the adjustments, tips, 50 pop-ups homework, it's all made on your best interest. From Theory class, to video analysis, everyone cares for your improvement. Thanks also to Leah for being the eye in the water and for best tips.And the surf instructors... only have gratitud for them as they only had big smiles and good vibes for us. All so patient and kind and caring, they are truly experienced and skilled, know the tides so well, know which one is a good wave and make you paddle for or is just a banana pancake that doesn't break and want you to save your energy 😆. Thank you Adi, Amir, Duggy, Saban & Restu you're all legends. Special shout out to Restu who took me under his wing and kept me confident even after gnarly wipeouts and always ensured I was in the right spot.Honestly couldn't recommend this week enough. You are not only gonna improve your surf skills but also meet lovely people (both staff and travellers), and perhaps even make new friends!Will be back soon for suuuure!GRACIAS ♡

Best week ever - lots of good surf, amazing people and food and lots of fun! Had the best instructors (Duggy, Adi, Restu, Amir, Leah, Saban and Sam) and with the best staff (Maya, Joe, Ali, Watti and Bideng) and everyone else of course :) would highly recommend!!

I've just come back from an incredible week at Xanadu Village. My surfing progressed far beyond what I expected! This has a huge part to do with Sam who led great theory and video analysis sessions. And also the brilliant surf instructors. When in the water, I clung to Adi as my main guide for the week and he was so patient, so kind and made me feel really safe. I came into the week still harbouring a fear of the ocean, but Adi and Sam really helped me conquer that fear and by the end of the week I was confidently surfing in waves I would have otherwise been terrified of 7 days prior! Brian was our yoga instructor and he led beautiful restorative classes, which was just what I needed through the week to shake off work stress. I really can't thank the team enough, or recommend the week more to anyone considering it. It's insane to think the Xanadu team could be so welcoming, and warm and interested in your surfing progressing, when they meet a new group every week! I met really beautiful people both in the staff, instructors, hosts and fellow travellers. Oh, and the breakfasts and welcome dinner are so fresh, healthy and tasty!! I'll certainly be back. Thanks guys!!

I travelled to Xanadu in May 2024 in a group of eight, for a birthday holiday. We had an amazing trip and Xanadu was absolutely the perfect place for us to be. In my group of 8 as we had a range of abilities and I was really impressed at how Xanadu and was able to cater for everyone. The guidance and learning was very thorough. We surfed every day and often went out for a second surf and were easily able to arrange transport to get around for any additional outings.We stayed in Xanadu Village. The location of Xanadu Village being so close to the centre of Kuta was fantastic because we were able to move around independently in and out of town to get things that we might like (food, shopping, massage etc) There were so many excellent restaurants to choose from for our evening meals. This was a different type of surf trip for me as I am used to being able to see the waves... but not be near a village. It was really fun on this trip to be near the village.Xanadu Itself was a lovely space to be in, with 12 people being the full capacity. The kitchen and the rooms are all situated around a pool and a small lawn. There is a yoga studio above the kitchen. The staff were due we are very friendly and helpful at all times. Nothing was a problem. We were able to have massages in our own rooms if we wanted to, to order food and drinks to have by the pool.The staff were lovely and the food was great.Our host Sam was so friendly, patient,thoughtful, knowledgeable and a great photographer! Thank you, Sam for all the you did was to make our holiday amazing, and it was really lovely to meet you and spend time with you.The surf crew were awesome! We all had the highest wave count ever - and the biggest smiles - such happy energy from the crew!I would love to come back one day. Thank you.

I had a great week at Xanadu Surf Camp in Kuta! It's smack in the middle of everything, so you can just stroll to nearby shops and restaurants anytime. The rooms are comfy, and the pool area is the perfect chill spot after hitting the waves. What I really liked was how they grouped us by our surfing skills, so everyone was at the right pace. The instructors were top-notch—supportive, keen on safety, and really pushed us to do our best. Plus, starting the same day as everyone else meant we got super close by the end of the week. Made some solid friends! The breakfasts were also a treat, something new every morning. Highly recommend it if you're looking to surf in Lombok!

I didn't stay there but I surfed with students from this surf school. One of the instructors was extremely rude and disrespectful in the water telling me to leave the area where he was pushing the students to catch a wave. I moved but obviously not quickly enough and without remaining silent. The tone rose but I did not want to give in to this pressure from the law of business. I said to calm down and that I was moving. They didn't like it when I immediately did what they told me. You are not welcome in beginner surf spots if you are not with a surf school.From there I explained that I wanted to surf too but I was allowed to say “but do you at least know how to surf? » or even “I do what I want, I’m at home so if you don’t like it, get out! ". I replied that it was not his home but that it was his place of business above all. Here surfing is the instructors' income so they make the law their own and are extremely disrespectful of surfing rules and priorities. They don't respect anything as long as their students take waves by pushing them. The money at stake spoils the premises which are usually very pleasant. It doesn’t give a good image of the school or surfing in Lombok. Everyone should be welcome at the spots. So know if you go to this school that the instructor is adorable to you but that he doesn't respect the rules in any way. (Several students crashed into each other, the surfboards are flying everywhere which is very dangerous, the instructors cut priority even if you are on the wave they still send their students on it…)
