Be careful on the jetty through the forrest to the village. When wet it's slippery like ice! And some planks are rotten.The Eco Village Malagufuk is the base camp for hikes into the forrest to see the Birds of Paradise. The available "Glamping Tents" are at the lowest possible comfort. We don't expected much - just things as a rack to put some things on to keep them dry. All Zippers of the tent where broken and the dogs of the village came in and out to search for something yummy. A rope for drying wet clothes was brought by our self. Nothing else than the thin mattress on the ground - on morning you are eye on eye with the cockroaches. A drainage around the tent is hardly missed, so you have to went through a swamp when you have to go middle in the night and complete darkness to the only toilet 25 m - 35 m) which is somewhere behind the eating area.Power only available for 2 h a day. It dependence on the amount of fuel you bring for the generator.The offered food was very basic but tasty. All people were friendly, helpful and did a good job.Please, improve a little bit the facilities - No glamour needed, just the basics!And keep an eye on the litter in the forrest!But to see the birds - phantastic!!!

Amazing place for birding and spot other jungle creatures. You can find 5 diferent species of bird of paradise. Also inmerse on the life of a papuan village. Little bit dificult to het there. Vontact yravel papua or directlybto the locals through facebook.

EcoLodges set 2.1 miles of walkway from the road. Limited electricity and water. Have to bring your food and beverages to be prepared daily. Everyday/ morning is about 30-40 mins walk in the jungle trek to the hides. Unfortunately we had bad bed bugs and had to leave early. People are very friendly and helpful but with limited resources available to them , it’s difficult to improve.
