We spend 6 nights in Mandarin Homestay and it was totally amazing! Chris is a really kind host, and also his family is really friendly. It is quite a relaxed Homestay, and therefore the family is giving you a lot of attention. The food that you get is delicious and plenty, also it varries quite a lot day by day. We would say that the food at Mandarin was the best from all of our homestays. From your bungalow you have an amazing view on the water and there is jungle right behind you. All the time you can hear and see amazing birds flying around you. This gives a lot of peace and amazing scenery. In nights you can watch the sun go down from the bungalow terrace.Trips were really easy to set up with Chris and his brother always joined us underwater and showed us nudibranches and fish.Only drawback is that there is no nice beach. Thats why we spend most of the time at the nearby yetty

Great homestay with very nice people! Very clean, the most delicious food and really plenty of it, amazing coral reef in the neigbourhood, loads of birds that can be seen and heard just from the terrace of the homestay. It was really easy to set up trips with the host, he also gave us some useful tips and his brother always went with us underwater and showed us some nudibranches and fish. I'd definitly go there again. Also, didn't see or hear any rats. Only drawback was lack of nice beach, that's why most of the time I spent on the jetty nearby

Our stay in Mandarin homestay was briliant! Chris and his team were so nice and helpful. They arange for us really amazing experience trough Raja Ampat islands. They cooked for us delicisious food and they took care about everything. They also provided snorkeling with mantas and as a bonus you can watch small Nemo (clownfish) just bellow one of the room. Thank you!

This was the least impressive Homestay I visited out of 3 while in raja. The food was scarce, eggs, rice & veggies for dinner. Most other places provide 2 veggies & fish for the same price. The coral reef in front is damaged. The rooms are huge & the bed was the most comfortable I stayed in while in raja.

We had a great time, the surroundings are magnificent, unspoilt and there is a lot of natural beauty to admire. Yes, the accommodation is basic, but we know that in advance. The family that runs the place does their very best to provide good service. Tip: we took a trip to Gam Bay, which was really great. The nature there is very special. It was also nice snorkeling in the harbor of Arborek.

Yes, it's basic and you know that in advance. But the area is fantastic and there is a lot to see. Here you sit in a stilt house above the water and all kinds of things swim around below you. …
