Among all the homestays in my Raja Ampat trip this time, Meos Ambower has the best view. And YESS they can arrange dives for you. Highly recommend if you want to dive in Melissa's garden and don't wannna just make it an intense day trip... Very remote and quite place to stay. Remember owner of the homestay has their own business to do. They are super helpful but def not responsible to take care of you 24 hours. If you want the perfect butler service, choose a resort!

Lovely people to welcome you and take care of you during your stay! Bungalows are beautiful, earthy and made of bamboo with a patio (with comfortable sun beds) onto the house reef, which is basically an open air aquarium. You can frequently see baby black-tip sharks and many colorful fish. We had generous portions of fish every night along with vegetables and rice, tea and coffee always available. There was also good drinking water, which is essential, and fruits. The accommodation itself is basic but we had all we needed, it was nice to be in a place that is truly local and non-commercial. They have a few tours you can do from the homestay, but best to bring your own masks/fins because they are still growing and are not fully equipped yet. (We have read a lot of unfair reviews, this is not meant to be a luxury resort). The value for money is fantastic, we would definitely recommend! The reason we put 3 stars for service is because we went on a tour to find mantas but it was quite disorganised: guides did not consider the tide and once we were already out, they decided to wait for the conditions to change on a random beach for an hour. After finally finding mantas, after hours from our departure from the homestay, we were unable to swim with them, to us it all seemed a bit improvised. We understand that they are in nature and cannot be guaranteed, but we only attempted to swim with them for 20 minutes once we actually spotted their wings and then the guides decided to head back. Once again, the rest of the experience was worthwhile, but in general we would not recommend spending more than 2-3 nights in one homestay in Raja Ampat due to limited daily activities/tours.Thank you again for everything!

Great island with a beautiful reef right on the doorstep. Sharks swim under the minimalist huts at high tide. The coconut crab can also be seen on the island in the evening.Unfortunately, there are an incredible number of mosquitoes and the “sanitary facilities” are really disgusting. There is also no sink with running water where you could wash your hands.Even when eating, you always have to be considerate of other guests so that everyone gets something. There is really little available and it is not refilled when something is empty. For example, for breakfast there was (and this is no joke) 1 piece of toast with peanut butter per person - they were actually counted one for each guest. So you only ever got half full. There is reliable WiFi in the common area in the evenings. Electricity is also available in the room (until approximately midnight). Some huts also had problems with mice/rats.So if you can't get rid of creepy crawlies or something similar and would prefer a clean bathroom to a toilet and a bucket shower, you're definitely in the wrong place here. The excursions were great and really reasonably priced. If there are other guests on site, you can always share the prices with the group. You can definitely stay here for a few days and enjoy the wonderful surroundings despite the circumstances listed above.

We had a marvellous stay with Nick at Meos Ambower. The bungalows over the water with the house reef right in front is extraordinary. Baby reefsharks visiting, swimming underneath, a beautiful sunrise and sunset right in front is a dream come true. The common room has excellent 360degree view over the beautiful reef. Plenty of food options and always fresh. The staff is super friendly, helpful and always ready to go on an adventure. We went swimming with the mantas, which is just a 10 minute boat ride from the homestay. Cristal clear emerald blue water and playful mantas. We had a fabulous stay and will definitely visit again! Terima Kasih untuk semunya! Ines & Reinert from Belgium

The homestay is amazing. Little sharks swim under the over water bungalow. The dining room is the best we found in Raja Ampat. Nick and his family/crew are the best host possible. While we were there, none of the 4 bungalows had rats problem. Also, don't forget to ask for the night tour to see the coconut crab.

Breathtaking views, whether from your own hut or from the “shared house” in the water. We really liked the simple furnishings, and the toilet and shower were also fine (no flushing, showering with a Tabo ladle from a large barrel). The adventure begins when you first enter the facility. There is something to discover everywhere, different animals can be seen on land or in the water. Smaller reef sharks, large schools of fish in all imaginable colors... a dream, honestly! Food was enough to survive :) it's hard for the locals to get food, but it's enough :)Nick, the host, understands little broken English, but it's okay for the most important things. Now to the topic of why I have to deduct a star. I had no problem sleeping on the floor (we wanted adventure) but when I fell asleep I was woken up by some rats. Even in my mattress beneath me, heard them nibbling on the innerspring mattresses. I couldn't sleep any more and spent the night on the balcony in great fear (because the power goes out at midnight). But then the critters and others came by too...Nick had little understanding and unfortunately couldn't do anything about it. The next morning we examined the mattress and discovered huge holes. Then I slept with other people in another bungalow...So the nights were horrible because of the darkness (without electricity/light) but during the day it really is a paradise. I have no regrets and am grateful that I was able to have the experience.NICK and his team are super nice and make every wish possible (except the one with the rats)...Take good flashlights, enough mosquito repellent and alcohol... there is nothing there or in the area.Have a great time at Ambower Homestay.I would definitely come back with better survival measures. It was worth it :)

We had an amazing adventure on Meos Ambower. Above all, Nick and his family are very nice people and try to fulfill every wish you have. At night, for example, they did not hesitate to bring us a chilled beer from the village on the next island, they stocked up on Fanta and Coca Cola, when they found out that we loved them, they took our son to fish with a harpoon on the open sea, they prepared the fish that our children caught from the moles/decks and etc. And this is what makes this accommodation special. Of course, the houses are above the water on a beautiful small island, they are all clean, with a mattress or a bed and a mosquito net. The toilet and the possibility of rinsing with water is basic, as in other homestays in this location, but everything is clean and constantly cleaned. There is plenty of food and it is very good, especially fish and homemade cakes. Fruit is served for lunch and dinner, coconut is available whenever you say you want one. In addition, we were lucky to have wonderful guests in other houses and together we enjoyed a wonderful time on the island and on some trips that we decided to go on together with them. Prices for shipping to Waisai and on trips are not exorbitant because they are really long distances. We definitely recommend a trip to the opposite island, where there are large beaches with very fine sand, gradual access to the sea, in which there are beautiful corals and is full of blue starfish right from the start.
