It's really not worth it at the room price (range 1 million - 2.5 million). Breakfast is only fried noodles and fried rice, only given omelettes... at that price you should be able to have breakfast buffet style, especially on weekends, the rooms are full... lThe bathroom is also not clean, the floor / ceramic is not suitable so it is slippery... the towels are thin and small hahaha... you can also hear the sound of water splashing from the top floor...In the room there was also a knocking sound from above...The hotel only sells aesthetics but customers are less satisfied and less comfortable...The location is quite strategic and the atmosphere of the hotel (lots of trees and gardens) is really good, but other things need to be improved...

The worst hotel I have ever visited. filthy, dirty, smelly. You could say this is a budget hotel. Not worth it for the price. The point is that it is not recommended for staying overnight. Give up coming here

Kalang Ulu is indeed a highly-priced hotel with great ambience and aesthetic. Rooms are spacious and it is uniquely designed with earthly landscapes. The shower works on a gas boiler system so on cold days it can get too cold that it doesn't provide hot showers. (Your mileage may vary)However, poor management of staff and poor quality food really takes away from the experience of a premium hotel such as this. Staff can be pretty clueless at times. Breakfast is disappointing and pretty basic for what you're paying for and dinners at the restaurant have long wait times and even wrong orders. It's really disappointing when the restaurant has such a nice vibe and atmosphere but fails at the basic service. The restaurant can get pretty busy on the weekends, so best to avoid those days if you can.That said I can only recommend this hotel if you're planning for a quick stopover in Berastagi (max 1 or 2 days) and that's it.I really wanted to like Kalang Ulu, but it just failed to please me to the standard I am paying for.To say that the "hotel is trying their best" or to even give the benefit of the doubt is a tall order.If you can spend a little more on the budget, you may consider proper 4 star hotels around the area.

The worst hotel I've ever stayed. They make it looks great outside and reception was set up luxurious. But when you enter the room was absolutely horrible, there water dripping from the roof in the bathroom. Dirty room, no lift, lack of maintenance. And the construction works is inside the hotel area all the way long to my room, it's a filthy hotel. I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all.

Unpleasant experience..I stayed in a deluxe room but the room was not maintained...Many items are not suitable for use..The mosquito net was torn, the curtains were torn (don't know what the concept of the curtains were like; they were raw from the outside), the sheets were torn, the tax cupboard was rickety, there was moss in the sink...The TV can't be used at all...And for breakfast, only fried rice, fried noodles and fried food are provided, the refill time for eggs is also very long...The hospitality is low...For almost the same price you can get a 4 star hotel...

This hotel is seriously ruined!!! STRONGLY NOT RECOMMEND! DISAPPOINTED! Very bad service. I took the Deluxe type, it was really noisy starting at 9 o'clock with the sound of karaoke from the villa next door and I woke up twice in the middle of the night because of the dog barking (which the rsptionist said was a common occurrence lol). Breakfast is just noodles and nasgor. Taste 3/10. The tea tastes strange, the 2 types of fruit are dirty leftovers. Not worth the price. SUCCEED!!

Strange hotel. Someone once thought about the special calm styling. Because it looks nice. It's a shame that the concept was a little less effective. Check-in took 30 minutes! Staff does not speak English. Until late at night and wide awake from 5 a.m. because of noise. No good curtains. In addition, none of the window frames fit, so you are actually sleeping on the street in terms of noise and have a stone cold room when it rains. Furthermore, the whole thing makes a somewhat tired impression, a dingy toilet with brown stains, a shower full of limescale residues, torn off wallpaper, even after 7 years. There is something broken, sticky or not clean everywhere. Upon arrival, no effort was made by the bell boy to assist with luggage. Walk along...but don't offer to carry the suitcases on a trolley. In the first room the shower did not work and there was hair on the floor. Also stains on the sheets. No telephone in the room, no refill of the complimentary tea and coffee. You can then go back to the back yourself first. Very poor breakfast: 1 bowl of noodles, 1 bowl of nasi, 1 bowl of egg, 1 bowl of bread, 1 bowl of lettuce/cucumber/carrot, 1 bowl of watermelon and 1 with pandan cake. Not a bad thing if it is simple, but it looked dingy, was not refilled and tasted bad. Cutlery was also greasy and wet. Staff is staring at you with angry faces. What disorganized chaos. Beautiful rooftop bar and restaurant! With prices above Indonesian standard. This hotel is totally unsuitable for a quiet night. This is definitely not a 3 star hotel. Once but never again.

It is a very difficult place to spend even a day.Room maintenance is not possible.Odor, mold, dustIt was so hard.The best part isWarm water comes out when showering.Other than that 👎The elevator was under construction when I went.The problem isn't the elevator.The biggest problem is which room you stay in the longest!!!

This has been the most disappointing hotel of our three week holiday in Sumatra.The hygiene in the room in particular was poor. It looked like no cleaning had been done. There was still hair in the bathroom and even remnants of toilet paper in the shower cabin. There was also blood on the bed sheet, which fortunately was changed after asking twice.Furthermore, the hotel was built 7 years ago, but this is absolutely invisible. Many things are broken and it is simply poorly maintained.If we have to mention one plus point, it is the atmosphere on top of the roof terrace. The food itself is okay, but is not served at the same time.Then there is breakfast, about which there is little positive to say. The choice is extremely limited: toast, bami goreng or egg. There are also far too few seats available.So please look for another hotel! :)

3 star hotel? What a joke.You sleep better in a hostel!We were going to stay 2 nights, left after 1 night.Room was dirty and very noisy. Please people don't go here, it will ruin your holiday.If the room above you or next to your shower flushes or coughs, you will hear it.The hygiene is very poor. Mold everywhere, a plaster on the wall, towels smelly (luckily we brought towels with us), shower in your slippers, toilet that leaks, other people's hair on the toilet bowl and blood in the mosquito net.Towels are broken, bed linen with holes, mosquito net also has holes, wallpaper is loose and dirty walls.The appearance is nice, but it is poorly finished and very poorly built
