From the moment we arrived Sadar Wisata Guesthouse we were surrounded by the tranquility of the forest. Surrounded by the rustling of trees and the singing of birds, we find an oasis of peace away from the hustle and bustle of the city.The kindness of the hosts was second to none. They welcomed us with warm smiles and made us feel at home from the first moment. Every request was attended to diligently and every interaction a reminder of the genuine hospitality they offer.Be sure to try the spaghetti with tomato sauce that they serve. Made with fresh tomatoes these spaghetti are simply divine.

As I wanted to have a peaceful and quiet stay somewhere in Ketambe, and another traveller recommended this place to me, I decided to stay two nights in the wooden bungalow near the river (150K IDR per night).Eventhough it was very peaceful to be there, the bungalow and garden were full of ants. It was really hard to get rid of the ants. When you would walk to the communal area, the ants were unavoidable. The same situation in the room: ants were everywhere, even on the bed. Also had some other creepy crawlers🪳🕷️ as visitors in the room.I think the bungalow could definitely use some maintenance, same for the communal area. The interior was very old, I think it might have been there since the year they opened (in the 1980's as I was told). The food was good, made by the owner. She runs the place and speaks English.No Wi-Fi available.

I'm sorry to say that I have been disappointed with this place. We decided to stay there because the room price was cheaper than the other hostels. Although in the end the manager tried to charge us more than we had agreed. But because he knows the service was bad, he didn't do it.The rooms: they are good, they are spacious, but the bed is uncomfortable, you can feel the springs.The food: I don't know if they ever have a cook, but the same young man who did the trekking for us cooked for us, and I'm sorry to say that it's not worth it. Better to go somewhere else to eat.Trekking: this is the saddest thing. We all go to Ketambe to see the orangutans. And yes, we saw them. Do not be fooled. The orangutans are always in the same area, so you are going to see them with great confidence.Try to get an experienced guide, to enjoy knowledge.The one that the owner of the hostel offered us was a young boy who knew nothing about the jungle, or about plants, or about the population of orangutans that are there.Keep in mind that they charge the same everywhere, so don't feel obligated to do it with anyone, find out before making a decision.All the best. And I hope the hotel manager puts some thought into the quality of service he offers. Not just about receiving money.

This place is amazing. I got the big bungalow that is in front of a river and a huge greenery, you feel like in a paradise, in the middle of the land. The food you have in the restaurant is very delicious and local, and there's a warm welcoming.I did a 2 days trakking into the jungle with the best guide ever: Princa.It was a super experience and he show me many things into the jungle and share his knowledge about the place with me. We saw many orangutans and I really enjoy the place, it's special! I truly recommend this experience and if you get time, I suggest you to stay more in the jungle, there're many things to discover!A place to come back

Beautiful little place, deep in the mountains and jungles of Sumatra. I can’t remember who recommended these great lodgings, but I’m very glad they did. Wonderful rooms, and great staff. We set off from here on a trek for a few days and what an amazing experience that was from this perfect base.
