This is the best place to be. Let me paint you a picture of a perfect day as a beginner in surfing:You wake up at 6 in the morning, grab a coffee, and do some dry exercises with the coach, Anton. Then, you stroll along the pier as the sun rises, paddle out to the spot, and catch some really nice waves to progress your surf, while Anton guides you through step-by-step improvements.After that session, you can grab a coconut from the fridge, and Petra, the host, serves you a delicious breakfast. You can chat about your session with other guests, which helps you improve even more and makes you feel welcomed in the surf community.At lunchtime, you can order a tasty veggie burger or maybe go for the chicken wrap?After lunch, you might head out for another session with locals, other guests, or Site, Petra’s husband, who might drop in on your wave unnoticed and give you live instructions like, “Bend your knees, lift your head! Nice, go go go!” Alternatively, you could jump in the ocean at the end of the pier, have a swim, and try to find the sea turtles you saw during the morning session or watch the skilled surfers from the second floor and envision how you’ll catch those waves one day.In the evening, you can enjoy a dinner served with fresh fish, tempe with all the guests at the guesthouse. After that, you can ask Site or Petra for the optimal time to go out the next day and enjoy the evening playing pool, table tennis, or the famous Yatzy.At any time, you feel welcomed as a friend, and slowly, a sense of belonging starts to build up. I had a great time there. The location is brilliant and the food was amazing. I am a vegetarian and something was always prepared especially for me. I'll definitely come back. Very good vibes :-)

We spent a few weeks in this establishment, the owners, Site and Petra and little Zoe, make you feel at home. The food is great, the location is the best with its own dock and shower to get out of the water easily and comfortably, on top of that they have ping pong tables, a pool table and many more things to have fun with your loved ones even when there are no waves ( although there is always). We arrived in Nias with no expectations, but Site and his team at Jamburae Lodge made our experience truly unforgettable. The food was the best we had in Indonesia, and the warm hospitality was unmatched. The lodge boasts excellent facilities with air conditioning, making our stay super comfortable.We had incredible adventures exploring the waves and immersing ourselves in the local culture. It was the perfect mix of surfing, exploring, and relaxing. We loved Site's passion for preserving his culture, which he combines with modern but sustainable practices, showcasing his great vision for his traditions, culture and conserve his beloved home. A big shout-out to Anton, who made our surf sessions easier and smoother.Jamburae Lodge exceeded all our expectations, and we can't wait to return!

Petra, Site, little Zoey and the staff are so welcoming.Our family of 5 stayed for a week and had a great experience. At a small cost per head we were taken to our very own surf break where we all grabbed amazing waves. What an experience it was. 🏄‍♀️🏄Breakfast was included and we loved the wonderful omelette with a side of fresh fruit and the fruit pancake.We juggled having lunch and dinner at Jamburae and a number of the local restaurants.Rooms are cozy, with some offering views of the line-up, and amenities incl. pool table and ping pong table are great to spend some time with other guests after surfing. Airconditioning in the rooms allowed us to chill down after a surf and sleep like a log during the humid nights.100% recommend Jamburae to anyone going to South Nias and look forward to returning to this wonderful place.Liz, Gus, Elliot, Louis & Ant
