lovely stay, room and bed was comfortable/clean. the warung out front had delicious food and so close by. nyoman and his wife were amazing n hospitable and helpful the place felt very safe for a solo traveler ☺︎light construction on their family temple during the day but temporary!

Very welcoming and caring family.We really recommend with your eyes closed.Different choices for breakfast and the room is very good (clean, spacious with air conditioning and mosquito nets.Excellent catering available on site.

Super friendly host, cooked breakfast for us personally and always there to make sure we are okay or if we have any enquiries. Enjoyed his hospitality very much!The room is good, however squeaky bed. There are mosquitoes and ants in the room, just some and doesn't affect much. Room and toilet is clean.Morning you could hear rooster and bird since very early morning like 5am, at night you could hear the performance dance nearby.

The location is very good. It is very convenient to go everywhere. There are many places to eat and shop around.The owner is very kind and will show up when you need help. The breakfast is very rich and you are fed well every day. The family is very cute and friendly. I hope I can return to Ubud to visit them if I have the opportunity.

Only stayed here for one night but I would’ve loved to stay here for longer. Nice rooms, close to the city center but still very quiet. The host was very nice and the breakfast was lovely.

This is one of my favorite places I’ve stayed in the world. Nyoman (the host of the guest house) is incredibly sweet, generous, and welcoming. His daily breakfasts (featuring fresh fruit juice) put a pep in my step and smile on my face all day long. Nyoman also put me in contact with Yanden, a delightful driver who showed me around the area and taught me so much about the island (we’re friends on Instagram now). I even got to attend a riveting fire dance/musical storytelling performance that Nyoman and fellow community members put on at a local community center.The guest house rooms themselves have a welcoming, natural aesthetic (I’ve attached a video showing the room I stayed in). They’re serene at night, despite being a few dozen meters from some of the most lively and fun thoroughfares of Ubud. I slept like a baby, refreshed for my morning hikes and tours. Nyoman also recommended the restaurants down the street, which had some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. I ate at Warung Krisna every single day of my stay, it was that dang good.I write Google Reviews fairly regularly, but only for places and venues I feel particularly attached to. I’m not overstating any of my feelings in this review - months later, I still daydream about the guidance, hospitality, and all-encompassing kindness I experienced at the Tanggal Merah Guest House. If you’re looking to make your stay in Ubud unforgettable and really connect with the area, don’t think twice. Book a stay here 😊 And tell Nyoman I say hi!

Best place to stay while in Ubud! I have stayed here for 12 days, and it was perfect.The room is in very good condition. Aircon is working perfectly. The bathroom is clean. Breakfast is super amazing. The location is perfect in central Ubud. Great value for money. Nyoman, the host, is a very nice guy, helpful, always keeping room clean and tidy, making an amazing breakfast. He is basically the best host I have ever met.I strongly recommend the place for your stay in Ubud, either short or long stay.
