Beautiful place to stay. Everything is down to the last detail, beautiful garden, good food at very reasonable prices. The rooms spacious and pleasant. You can absolutely relax there after a busy day. The resort is therefore somewhat remote, we had a private driver through a local agency for 3 days which made it easy, the hotel can also perfectly provide taxi rides and transport. Totally recommend this!

What a dream of a stay!This is now the kind of resort you recommend to friends and for which it is even worth adjusting your itinerary.It is quietly located inland on the River Kwai in a beautiful garden. Small-scale, clean, very well maintained, authentic with great service. There are mainly Dutch guests as bookings can only be made directly and Evelien and her Thai partner are from the Netherlands. Nevertheless, the resort retains a sufficient Thai atmosphereThe meals are delicious and affordable.Evelien arranges great tours and transport with taxis at good prices (in the room there is a book with all possible tours and the costs), the resort also offers massage, fitness and badminton.It really is an oasis of peace and 5 star service. When in doubt, just do it!

Beautiful location! But it was too tightly maintained for us and we felt uncomfortable because the staff moved through the resort like servants. As if we were in the garden of a palace.Resort is worth a visit. Beautiful garden, clean rooms, you hear the birds chirping and it is very relaxing. When you wanted to sit down, a cushion was quickly placed under your buttock. There were many gardeners/women present; If a leaf fell from the tree, it was immediately picked up. The hedge was trimmed every day so that it was maintained down to the millimeter and the gravel path was raked tight again behind you.Too much luxury for our personal taste. We felt a bit treated like royalty. We also missed the personal contact with the staff a bit. We experienced this as too formal and would have liked more spontaneous interaction.The owners are very nice and enjoy chatting with their guests!

Fantastic, we would love to come back. Everything has been thought of, you will be pampered in every possible way! Food and drinks good prices, soft drinks 50 baht, shake 75 baht, pad thai 130. Resort is far from Kanchanaburi (25 min with Songthaew, 250 baht) so I expected higher prices, but Evelien and Djo keep it affordable, very neat theirs.

We were treated to an overnight experience at Oriental Kwai Resort during our visit to Kanchanaburi. From the moment we drove in, we were made to feel at home and welcomed. Our host, Evelien, greeted us with a smile, and her staff went to work to fetch our bags and get us registered. We were given cold towels and tea as a welcome before a lovely young woman walked us to our bungalow. The stand-alone room is well appointed with coffee, tea, water, and a mini bar. The room is spacious and airy, and ours overlooked the River Kwai. The pool is lovely to coll down and offers service of food and drink. Dinner on the open deck was scrumptious, the service top notch and portions generous. Breakfast was included and offered lots of options from Thai to Western. We wished we could have spent more time at this wonderful spot to experience a massage and more time at the pool. Definitely would recommend and look forward to returning some time in the future.

The Oriental Kwai was without doubt our favourite hotel stay during our five weeks in Thailand, and we stayed at a lot of hotels. The warm welcome and peaceful surroundings make it very difficult to leave. The staff are amazing, very efficient and helpful at all times. The food in the restaurant was so good that we ate there all three nights of our stay. The hotel is remarkable value for money and we would be very pleased to stay again.
