Update: a lot of suspicious comments were added 3 months ago. This "residence" does not offer meals, has no views, has no public transport nearby. The reviews do not agree with the rental, especially long term, of these villas, and praise services/features that are not included.It's a single-storey house, it's not terraced, but the houses are so close to each other that it's just like. Paklok has a fairly nice village atmosphere, which you quickly get tired of, because you are far from everything. Food Panda does not deliver, and even though Grab is supposed to, orders are usually accepted and then canceled when no delivery person agrees to deliver. There is a beach 10 minutes away by bike, not for swimming, due to the mud, but which can be vaguely nice to look at at high tide. Otherwise the pretty beaches are 45 minutes to 1 hour away. Communication with the staff is not easy, unless you speak Thai. English will not be enough. We had some inconveniences like the false ceiling of the garage which fell on our car during the night. According to the housekeeper, it is because of the presence of rats in large numbers in the false ceiling. It's true that even in the house, we often heard them running above our heads. There were water problems as well, there is no running water, the house is supplied by a well, and there were quite a few problems with the electric water pump. We had to hire a lawyer for bail. The manager explained to me that the owner takes the deposit from the outgoing tenants to repair everything for the new arrivals, such as repainting the walls, the tables, basically maintenance which normally falls to the owner and not to the tenant. (The latter told us that he was in a hurry for us to leave, because with the "COVID crisis" over, he could charge the new tenants 2 times what we were paying.) Coming back to the deposit, it doesn't matter if you replace anything that has been broken or damaged, whether you use a professional cleaning company, you will be blamed for damaging things that were already damaged when you arrived, and you will be asked to pay for things that you have already replaced (which they will replace with better quality things than what is in the house of course and at your expense). Small important detail, using the air conditioning 2 to 3 hours per day only, we paid around 8-10,000 baht for electricity per month. The insulation is far from optimal. Our former neighbors seem to have left their house for this reason, they did not seem to find a link between their electricity consumption and the bill, and preferred to leave on the sly before the end of their contract (and therefore lost their 2 months of bail). The wifi included in the rent does not work well, you have to take out another subscription. Despite this, the connection only works more or less well in the living room. Added to this the frequent power cuts, teleworking is practically impossible.
