Baan Maka was part of our Field Studies itinerary in Petchaburi. Location is remote but great and the atmosphere is one of the best. Food was great and the staff very helpful. We were 14 high school students and 8 educators and we all had a great experience. You can even do a night hike around the resort to spot night creatures.

A beautiful lodge with friendly staff with a lot of knowledge of the area. A lovely room, clean and spacious. Good food for a good price. The location is great! The breakfast is somewhat limited. All in all a wonderful stay. Definitely recommended.

A house in the forest, a peaceful, shady atmosphere.Lots of squirrels and a short trail to walk.Lots of birds, suitable for nature lovers.

Beautiful place to stay and get close to nature ❤️ Staff were really kind, efficient and helpful and the food was delicious. Lots of the ingredients grown on their own farm.

Rooms are spacious, but could use a good cleaning. The curtains are attached with tape, so that people cannot look through the windows at night.They arranged a taxi to our next stay. That was way too high at first, but we eventually paid a reasonable price.The location is in the middle of nature. It is all very spacious and a beautiful nature trail that can be walked. It does look a bit messy. They can make something very beautiful out of it.There is also a nice restaurant, with an extensive Thai menu.

Awesome nature lodge with excellent staff and service. Restaurant is veg/vegan friendly. Lovely setting in a great location with only a short drive to Kaeng Krachan National Park. No fridge in rooms and unreliable Wi-Fi are the only drawbacks.Baan Maka has a great nature trail which, if one so chooses, can go up to the 3 viewpoints...Baan Maka, Aunty Eks & Kaeng Krachan. WARNING: The climb is quite steep, grueling and potentially hazardous. Glad I did it, but once is definitely enough.

Wonderful to see animals and landscapes. The excursion to the park with the guide was magnificent and the other day we took a car with a driver to go to Phetchaburi. Everything was great, the room, the service, the food. I couldn't be happier with the days we spent there (2 adults and 3 children). If you want to be seeing bugs all the time, don't hesitate, of course, if you don't like having lizards, squirrels, geckos, spiders, birds, etc. nearby, then it's not your place, but in that case Thailand isn't either. Oh, if you go like us before the rainy season starts you may not be able to use the kayaks, don't be disappointed, and it's not the Lodge's fault. Go to the garden to have a drink watching the sunset.

Highly recommended to take amazing wildlife photographies or just to have a good rest in the wild.Many squirrels and birds can be seen close to the restaurant. The food is local and very good. Dishes with noodle would have been appreciated.The room was big, clean, very confortable and well protected against insects.I loved the nature trail available at any time (night and day to see different species). It is possible to walk between the lodge and the mountain (easy) and also to reach the top of mountain (nice view points).Very friendly staff, special thanks for the guides.Close to the Kaeng krachan natural reserve and at around 1 hour to Hua Hin. Drivers can be easily booked from the lodge.Just a perfect place from my point of view !!

In the morning, a rhinoceros (Nashornvogel) knocks on the bathroom window, a pitta walks next to us at breakfast, owls, goats' heads (Ziegenmelker) and lorikeets blink from the trees at dinner. Fireflies dance at night on the shore of the lake, while a million insects chirp. Peace and tranquility.We were there with the children in August 2023: rainy season, so everything was beautifully green..Huge, idyllic, well-kept garden, forest and lake. Very nice people and knowledgeable tour guides. (Son Thank you!)

We recently stayed here for 2 nights with our family, two sons. The lodges were spacious and clean, with good ac. The environment was inspiring and triggered to follow movement and sound around us. Games is a great person who took us to the national park early in the morning and noted a lot of birds and other animals. It was definitely worth it. I can still daydream about the images and it takes me back to that morning. Dear Games and Ian, good luck with your beautiful Baan Maka! We hope to come back to see Baan Maka greener and more lush!

This is a good place to make a nature connection! Nothing fancy but so lovely, relax and so nice. Not far from Kangkrachan National Park . A lot of local birds in this area .They have some services for nature lover like bird watching and night walk. They have many guides for foreigner. High recommend!I take picture on March 2024. So hot! But still nice.Baan Maka, accommodation near Kaeng Krachan National Park. The accommodation is simple, comfortable, appropriate, not luxurious, friendly to nature (and middle-class city people who still want to stay comfortably), lots of birds, lots of trees, there are guides available (if desired), near the bird pond, there is a viewpoint and there is a night walk service as well. Fun. Good. During our stay, there were only foreigners. There were only 2 Thai people in the house.

Very comfortable stay in a lovely nature setting.We contacted the lodge and they arranged our transportation from our condo in Hua Hin to the lodge. The lodge is beautiful, clean and peaceful with lots of beautiful birds and butterflies.The lodge arranged Piak, our very knowledgeable guide and the perfect truck as transport to the fabulous National Park.At the lodge, we enjoyed the challenging trek up to the Viewpoint on their trail. The lodge also arranged our transport to Bangkok. So everything was perfectly arranged and convenient for us.We had two nights at the lodge, perfect for us, who are not birders.

I was at Baan Maka for 3 days. I visited the Kaeng Krachan National park, i visited the birds hides and i wondered around their on trails and gardens. I even had a private guide Games, who showed me all the birds around.I am in love with this location and i already want to come back soon.The bungalows are amazing, and cozy, big, have air conditioning, bathroom and toilet. All you need.They have their own restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So you dont need to leave to town at all.They take care of everything. They think of all...I love it!I do recommend it!!!I hope i get back soon <3
