I stay there for a month. Nice base for visiting the city or for just one night. Quiet place between Thakhet and Paksé. They modernized the bungalows and put air conditioning everywhere!!

Stayed in a bungalow for 2 nights. Very nice sisters of the owner. They speak English.The house is small, there are no storage spaces as such. The mattress is hard. There is a condenser and a fan. They work properly. The shower is ok. The water runs hot without interruption. There are 2 towels. There is soap. Shampoo and shower gel are missing. There is no kettle in the room. Boiling water is available in the kitchen. 2 bottles of water are provided upon check-in.The roof is tin, so you can hear the sound of leaves falling on it, rain, etc. In general, there is no sound insulation. But since you are in the garden, no one particularly disturbs your peace.Breakfast included. Choose from fried eggs, scramble or omelette (with tomato and onion). Served with a warm baguette. Coffee not included. Can be ordered separately for 20k lak.You can also rent a bicycle, motorbike, or order a taxi to the airport or train station.I paid in dollars, they gave me change in bales upon request at a good rate.

What a truly amazing little gem of a place. We loved it so much, we didn't even go out during the day! The family are soooo lovely. They looked after us like we were part of the family. Travelling with four little ones, they filled a little tub up with water for the kids, cut them down fresh coconuts....the rooms are spotless, the garden is so cute. You can arrange with them to take you to the embassy. We will definitely be back!! Thank you to everybody at Sala Thongyon Guesthouse!!! Sorry for emptying the beer fridge! 😂

I arrived today 1st May, 2024@ around 10am.Stayed in the small room which is still acceptable but I am helpless as nobody help me just to call a taxi to go and buy food for my 3years old son and myself for lunch and dinner.The lady just drove out when I asked her to help me book a taxi as I do not have Laos Sim card. The other lady went into the house and I was left alone holding my son's hand who is hungry.I got to walk out along the street to find food for two of us while the weather is scary hot. I felt headache while walking around to find food but I have to proceed to feed my son and able to get only some cakes and drinks.I have learned not to believe photos and advertising from internet. I will never come back here but I still have one more night to stay.

I stayed here during my Thai visa application and it was a smooth stay overall.The guesthouse is run by some kind and hardworking ladies(not sure if it’s a family) and they help you with everything.The rooms are alright if you’re not picky and all the electronics works fine.The location is a bit far from the embassy(around 15 minutes ride) but closer to the town center.By 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes motorbike ride (the guesthouse has motorbikes to rent out) you can reach the main street of Savannakhet as well as night market and bars&restaurants.

Thankful to the staff who picked us up and provided a room when our booked hotel didn't honour the booking. Reasonably priced, basic bungalow rooms. No fridge but cold water and beers purchasable from the reception and the friendly staff helped us with a tuk tuk to the bus station.

If you like a place full of mosquitos, very small room with no light, sometimes no hot water and no air condition working. Very high price. Better before. Bad place, I find a good guesthouse for 5$ a night near bus station and mekong river, AC and big room, no mosquitos and hot water. Don't go to sala place, it's a trap now. The owners seems good, but when they can they rip off your money.

Beautiful place to stay. The owner is a very nice lady. We got a big bag of wild mushrooms she helped us clean and get ready to bring back to Thailand with us.
