Siam Journey Guesthouse

I stayed at Siam Journey Guesthouse for more than 3 weeks. The location is good. The building has potential to welcome guests and organize events but needs many improvements. It was mainly smelly, hot and dirty. I stayed longer due to my budget problems at that time. The receptionist (Pakistani guy) was friendly, we talked too much, shared our food, I adviced him many things how to develop this place, how to earn more etc. Since I was working I needed a good and cheap place to rent, he offered that I can stay in the private room and can cook using the kitchen space. We had agreement that I will stay 1 month in the private room and will pay half at the beginning and the rest after 2 weeks. (Before this I was staying in the dormitory for about 10 days.) While I was staying in the private room, I had to go to Laos for visa run and told him I will be back, so kept my stuff in the room. Btw, the AC in the room was shutting down and reopening after many hours (regularly), it was not convenient. I gave the key of the room so that when AC reopens again he can close it so no need to work for 3-4 days while I'm not staying in the room. So I was thinking that maybe he can save from the electricity bill and earn more! But when I come back to the hostel, I found out that he rented my room to a couple putting my stuff in the dormitory bed without asking my permission and we had argument. I was calm enough and said I'm tired after a long journey, I want my room. I talked to him in a kind way not to break the friendship. After some time he started to increase his volume saying that it is up to him to allow me stay in the private room for 2 weeks more because I didn't pay yet. I told him I will pay as we have talked and made a verbal agreement trusting each other. He talked like; 'This is Bangkok, what happens if you go and I lose money!' I said we promised each other and normally you can't take my stuff and you can't rent my room without my permission, what happens if you lose something? In the living area with a high volume he was talking without listening to me and trying to get support of other guests! I told him speak to me, this issue is not related to the other guests. (And this shows he is not respecting other guests and his job.) After all this, I said ok I will leave, this means I cannot trust you anymore. He put me in a very bad position in my economically bed time. I moved to another hostel paying more and fixed my budget problem a few days later. Who lost now? Maybe he earned more because of Christmas time but lost my trust and I am sure he will continue losing people and money with this poor mindset. Actually all of this shows that the owners of this hostel don't care their business so much that's why this person can work here and do whatever he wants! (I helped him so much! When he was outside I was welcoming some guests for their check in. When it is time to open AC in the dormitory I was opening so that he doesn't need to come back. Even he was forgeting to open AC, I was reminding him. (It is interesting that he never forgets to close AC!) I was opening the windows to get fresh air. I was turning off the lights to save and checking whenever I am around. Plus I was paying for my stay! I didn't deserve what he has done and I will never forget!)

Quality, reasonable price, convenient travel

This hostel is completely run down. The owner has decided to never fix anything and the staff never cleans the bathrooms or showers ever. There is black mold everywhere and the whole place is a complete health hazard. There are a lot of small little things that could easily be fixed but no one seems to care.

Overall, it's an alley-style prison, but management only sweeps the visible parts, and it's not cleaned properly, so it's messy and it's hard to last more than a day.

Everything corresponds to the price. The location is super

The locker box wasn't working, so I went to use the locker. There was no key in the locker, so I asked for the key and they sold it to me haha. I don't know. But first of all, it looks dirty. The employee looks like he's from India, but I don't really recommend it.

Stayed at Siam Journey Hostel and was disappointed. Great location near the sky train, but the hostel itself was not clean. My room had trash from previous guests, and there was an unpleasant smell. Shared bathrooms on one floor were inconvenient and unclean. There's Wi-Fi and a kitchen, but overall, it’s not worth it due to the poor cleanliness. I'd recommend paying a bit more for a cleaner place.
