Recently renovated hotel in the heart of the tourist downtown of Vientian. Clean and well managed "little-wannabe-hilton". This hotel has existed here for many years, but was completely renovated a few years ago, so old reviews not relevant anymore.

We spent the last night of our two-week trip to Laos at the Riverside Hotel, and breakfast was a buffet with a variety of food. I am satisfied with the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness and preparation of the rooms. Also, it is close to the airport, so I recommend it to many people.

The rooms are modern. The entire hotel is very clean. Many of the staff speak English well and are very helpful. And the excellent diverse breakfast was excellent every time. Well worth the reasonable price. I will absolutely stay here on my next visit to Vientiane.

Location of the hotel is in a nice area . Night market is very close by and a lot of restaurants near the hotel.Rooms are comfortable and clean.They had a good breakfast buffet spread. Lovely hotel and staff, really gorgeous, but no vegan options including the bread to toast at breakfast except a choice of 3 fruits for me so I had to go get breakfast elsewhere, and I specifically chose this hotel for the buffet breakfast. My vegetarian partner was limited to fried or boiled eggs on toast.I think at the price you pay they should at least have 1 vegetarian or vegan option to eat.

This place tried to scam me out of $60 to replace bed sheets that had some minor stains on them. I cancelled the rest of my stay on the spot (they kept decreasing their asking price to replace the sheets, btw. Probably taking a cut on the side from these little "mishaps".) The room smelled like paint thinner, the staff acted cold, and are provably greedy. For example, on the first night, the staff pretended they didn't have change for USD. I since noticed they keep a fair amount on hand. Their lockbox also didn't work. Stay away from here if you just want to have a normal hotel experience with normal people.edit: Note the owner responding below and **Not* explaining why a stain on a bedsheet would cost 60 $USD to clean or replace. "Yeah ok". Please provide proof of cost.

I booked 2 nights for myself, but it was so cozy that I extended my stay for 2 more nights.The front desk is very responsive.The interior has been completely renovated and looks like new.The rooms are clean and functional like a Japanese hotel. The room is large enough to carry a backpack, but when you open your suitcase, the space is a little tight.Rooms with balconies are very good. I was on the 7th floor, so I could see the Mekong River.There are almost all the amenities, but the toothbrushes and shavers are of poor quality.There is a safe, hair dryer, and electric kettle. You can watch Netfilx and YouTube on the TV.The air conditioner is made by Daikin in Japan. The shower has no problems with pressure or temperature. The bed is very comfortable.You will receive two bottles of water. On days when I don't have room cleaning, I tell the cleaning staff and they give me two bottles.Wifi isn't very fast, but it's stable.The rooftop has a good view. The pamphlet in the room said that the bar was open at night, but it wasn't.Breakfast is buffet style from 7am to 10am. The number of items is sufficient, but there are few delicious items. The bread is only white bread, the others are sweets, and they are okay. All the fruits are not sweet and tasteless.The staff at the breakfast buffet didn't even say hello, and I was concerned about their unmotivated attitude.The safety box was closed from the beginning, so I asked the front desk to open it. There is no manual on how to use it, so you should ask the staff.There is one big downside.Since we were in connecting rooms, we could clearly hear the sounds next door. It is unclear whether all rooms with balconies are connecting rooms, but couples should avoid connecting rooms.The location is very convenient to go anywhere.Three-wheeled cars are now for sightseeing and come at a high price, so a ride-hailing app was convenient. There are four companies, but I used InDrive the most because they have a large number of vehicles and you can decide your own budget.The majority of hotel guests are Koreans and Westerners.Overall, it was a very satisfying stay, and the hotel offers good value for money.
