I chose the Souphattra Heritage Vientiane Hotel and felt it was the right decision. For the first two nights of my trip to Laos, I had four reasons for choosing this hotel:1. Excellent location right in the heart of the night market dining area.2. A new hotel with a pool, have a well-known restaurant chain.(Lao Derm Restaurant)3. Great reviews across various platforms.4. Built and operated by Lao people (as I am also the owner of a hotel chain in Hanoi). Now, onto the good points! My first impression was that the hotel is located on a quiet, secluded street, despite being right in the center. The hotel is well-built with "smart" design details—not overly expensive, yet very refined. The greenery and pool are well-maintained. The art deco and Indochine style perfectly match my taste. The staff is enthusiastic, always offering a warm smile. The complimentary food and coffee at the hotel are also delicious and of premium quality! However, I believe the following points will serve as useful advice for the owners, management, and all staff of Souphattra Heritage and Lao Derm Group. These suggestions come from one of the top 5 hotel owners in Hanoi!1. The lobby has too few seats given the hotel’s 30-room capacity. When I checked in, there was myself and another guest enjoying a welcome drink, and when another family arrived, there were no seats left.2. The bathroom lacks a barrier between the shower and the toilet area, leading to a constantly wet floor. The sink has no cup for rinsing or storing toothbrushes, and the water pressure in the shower is weak (trust me, a strong water flow makes guests love it).3. The room had a few issues: no phone charging outlet by the bed as the two outlets are used for lamps and a scent diffuser. This forced me to move furniture to find a plug. There’s no full-length mirror—a very, very important detail. There’s no light above the mini bar mirror, which makes it impractical for makeup, and there’s no 3-way switch for the bedside lights. The trash bin under the table is in a dim spot and barely visible. The plastic cover on the ceiling fan isn’t aesthetically pleasing (a cover like the one used on the balcony would be more beautiful and consistent). Interestingly, I found that all these issues were well addressed when I stayed at the Souphattra Hotel in Luang Prabang.4. My first day’s biggest shock was the breakfast. I was surprised by the limited buffet options for a 5-star hotel. Additionally, the breakfast staff’s limited English skills made things difficult for guests. However, I noticed the high quality of the ingredients used, which made me overlook this issue. You focus on quality over quantity.5. As mentioned, I was taken aback by the staff’s lack of English proficiency. Only the front desk team spoke English well, while the F&B staff had very limited skills. In contrast, I noticed staff at surrounding restaurants, across different segments, spoke English quite well.6. Finally, there’s the matter of staff communication and finesse. My mother was proactively told by a staff member that we were entitled to a complimentary afternoon tea set. When I called to confirm, I was also told the same. But later, the reception called back to say that because I booked a special rate, the afternoon tea was no longer included. My family and I completely understand and have no issue with this, but it was the staff who first offered and then retracted the offer…In the end, I still give you a 5-star rating because I appreciate the hospitality, warmth of the staff, and the dedication of the owners. Moreover, I hope Laos’ tourism will grow so that both our neighboring countries, Vietnam and Laos, can thrive together! I hope my feedback provides you with deeper insights into this industry and the standards of a 5-star hotel. And thanks for the gift (Sparkling Wine) for my speical days ❤️Wishing you luck and success 🍀

The hotel is newly built, making it much cleaner compared to other 5-star hotels in Laos. The high level of service provided by the manager and all the staff made my stay not only comfortable but also gave me a sense of warmth and familiarity.

🌟 The Best Luxury Place in Laos…🌟I recently had the pleasure of staying at this stunning hotel, and it truly lives up to its reputation as a Small Luxury Hotel. The friendly concierge greeted me at the airport, and check-in was a breeze. The charming receptionist made me feel right at home, a real luxury home! While breakfast could use some variety and the staff could benefit from more training in English, the warmth of the staff more than made up for it.The hotel excels in comfort and location, boasting impressive facilities like enough European plug sockets, modern amenities and Dyson hairdryer. The peaceful landscaping and top-notch sound insulation added to my overall experience.I’m so happy here that I’ve decided to extend my stay for another week! Highly recommend!
