Affordable price, spacious interior, old bedding and facilities. Decent breakfast (chicken porridge is excellent). Recommended if you like night markets. However, you have to be bothered by the sound of singing until 2-3 in the morning. You can get emotional while looking at the Marriott across from you.

The room is large and good. However, the wifi is almost unusable, and more than half of the staff can't speak English. There are also unfriendly staff members.

First of all, there are no amenities, so I'm glad I brought a toothbrushing set and a razor in advance. At night, there is a night bazaar nearby, and there are live performances as well, so it's noisy until after 12am. There is Wi-Fi, but I can't connect at all, so I don't have much hope. There is a night bazaar every day and there are live concerts, so there are 5 star hotels nearby, but the location is noisy so next time I will avoid going to this area.

Nice and good hotel.Reasonable price.Located right on the night market, surrounded by many restaurants and shops.Quite close to the recreation area of Chiang Mai, and close to the old city. The view from the higher floors at night is perfect overlooking the entire night marketHighly recommended.

The Royal Lana hotel in Chiang Mai is in such a poor state of disrepair that it is far from being fit for royalty, as its name might suggest. This hotel cannot be recommended to any traveler.Upon booking 3 rooms for my family's short stay, the rooms themselves proved to be a major disappointment. They were described as spacious, but the overall appearance was very dated and rundown. The televisions in each of the 3 rooms were not functioning properly, and in one room the air conditioning unit was not working at all. Additionally, there was an unpleasant, lingering odor throughout the hotel and especially noticeable in the guest rooms. The bathrooms were also in poor condition, with mold present and very weak water pressure in the showers. This suggests the hotel's plumbing and fixtures are quite old and not well-maintained. Another major issue was the lack of in-room safes or security deposit boxes. This was a significant concern, as I did not feel comfortable leaving my passports, cash, and other valuables unsecured in the room. The hotel room doors were noted to be extremely difficult to open and close, with a sticky, wooden construction that also made a lot of noise. Some of the electrical fittings in the rooms also appeared to be loose, further adding to safety worries.Alarmingly, one of the 3 rooms I booked had an unlocked connecting door to another room. This means that anyone with access to that other room would also have unfettered access to my own room, completely compromising my security and privacy. When I brought this unacceptable issue to the attention of the unhelpful and seemingly uninterested front desk staff, they claimed the hotel was fully booked and refused to address the problem. It's like a haunted hotel. There's an eerie feeling. If you've watched the Netflix documentary "The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel," you'll know what I mean. This large hotel has an unsettling atmosphere, with only 2 floors being used and very few other guests visible during my stay. I honestly saw only 3 other people, and I'm not convinced one of them wasn't a ghost. The management of the Royal Lana hotel should be ashamed of the deplorable state of their property. It is completely unfit for guest accommodation in its current condition. With so many other hotel options available in the Chiang Mai area, it would be best for travelers to avoid booking a stay at the Royal Lana.

It seems to be a place where many Chinese people stay. The room is spacious and clean for the price and gets plenty of sunlight. The sound of singing outside can still be heard even after 2-3 am.Breakfast was better than expected..I can hear the sound of chairs being pulled and water flushing from the room above and next door.WiFi is too slowI think it's better to avoid accommodations with Chinese people. It's too noisy both morning and evening.
