Hotel Marcher

I got married in Australia and stayed at Hotel Marche for 6 nights during my 10-day trip to Japan and 10 days to Korea for my honeymoon, and it was much better than the larger hotel where I stayed for 2 nights in Seoul in all aspects, including service, cleanliness, room size, cost-effectiveness, and location. I'm healed. I could see that the owner and managers were all very kind and tried to provide as much convenience as possible. The room comes to be cleaned every day (you can hang a sign refusing to be cleaned on the door) and towels are changed every day. The location is one block below Kkangtong Market, making it easy to walk to Nampo-dong, Bupyeong Market, Gukje Market, Jagalchi, and Gwangbok-dong. The subway station is also within 10 minutes, so it's easy to go further afield, such as Seomyeon or Haeundae. My husband and I decided that if we go to Korea again, we can come to this hotel haha.

The establishment exceeded my expectations. Upon our arrival at the reception, we were greeted by a very amiable gentleman who graciously assisted us with our luggage. The location is ideally situated amidst a vibrant culinary and market scene, which perfectly aligns with my preferences. Notably, a 7/11 convenience store is conveniently located just outside the hotel. The room itself is modern, spacious, and meticulously clean, offering a comfortable stay. Moreover, the value for the nightly rate is exceptional. The spa bath was remarkable, providing a delightful and relaxing experience with its soothing hot water. Additionally, the room was thoughtfully equipped with a desktop computer, providing internet access, although we did not require it. This feature is unique and commendable.Based on my positive experience, I would wholeheartedly recommend this establishment and would gladly stay there again in the future.

The staff very friendly and attentive. The location is perfect for a walk through the night market and also easy to connect with other parts of the city. The size of the room is very good and the hallway is ideal for leaving your shoes and keeping everything clean, although it would be great to add a coat rack.

The location is good as it is right next to Kangtong Market.The room was large and clean and the staff were friendly.The bed was so comfortable that I had a great sleep.

The rooms are neat, clean, and very close to Jagalchi Market, Gukje Market, and Kkangtong Market.

Rudest manager ever shouting at us because we asked for a refund for one of the nights after her “electrician” (with no protection equipment whatsoever) made the main switch explode in our faces and the rooms we were given had no working hot tub (which we paid for) and stains on bath ropes and chairs. She literally didn’t even listen to us and shouted at us for over an hour and a half. Location was decent though and potentially nice rooms.

To begin with, I must admit that the hotel is ideally located, in a very lively area, not far from the metro and that the price is very attractive. …

Reason for an overall 2 stars are due to personal experience - this hotel may not be an appropriate choice for family (esp with kids) for the following reasons-i) mattress is really hard;ii) the futon bed is merely a blanket cover & a thin sheet of fabric, definitely not 1 if u’re considering to sleep on the cold hard flooriii) while the hotel location is excellent but want to note it is surrounded by “sleazy” karaoke joints.iv) on 1 occasion (evening onwards), we do encounter drunk man checking in with his partner & trying to get all talkative and up close with my family members inside the lift - def not a pleasant experience & can lead to fights if anything physical happens within the lift (if u know what I mean)v) sound-proofing’s an issue in the room - u can hear other rooms late at night (worst if there are the “happily drunk ones”)vi) sound from the streets downstairs from drunk people or cars sounding their hornvii) encounter some drunk people checking in (with their partner) at the reception, (guessing that’s a frequent thing) & decided to wait out so I don’t encounter what my family had few days agoHowever I’m rating 5 stars for location, room size and service staff. They are excellent, and happy to see them each time I enter & exit the hotel. Totally appreciate them coming out to assist to translate and flagging down taxi for us.Plenty of food choices surrounding this hotel, esp when u’re only 5mins walk from BIFF square.And it’s within walking distance street to street, from market (food) street, to the trendy main fashion street.
