We stayed at the Mayplace Hotel Dongdaemun twice as part of our tour.The hotel is very conveniently located in the old part of Seoul. Many sights and shopping areas are within walking distance. The bus stop is right next to the hotel, and it takes at least 10 to 15 minutes to walk to the subway stations. On our first stay we had a room with an extremely loud air conditioner and a bathroom in need of renovation. There was hardly any storage space for our luggage. Everything was very clean.On the second stay we had a better room where you could hang something up in the bathroom and there was space for 2 suitcases.The breakfast in this hotel is a disaster! After the experiences of the first 3 days, our children stopped going at all. In the morning at 8 a.m. there was still a free choice of a hodgepodge of Korean dishes (which were not very tasty), toast, sausage, if you were lucky, fruit and pieces of dry muffins. A single dispenser for coffee and tea water for 195 rooms! The area for the buffet is far too small and extremely untidy: dirty tea towels and aprons lay on piles of dishes next to bowls prepared for room breakfasts. fruit, bottles, baskets, papers; Order is different. Refilling the buffet took an extremely long time, so we sometimes had to leave the restaurant hungry because our bus was waiting.Overall, we had a great trip through Korea with very nice hotels, but I can't recommend Mayplace.

The hotel was a good distance from Myeongdong. Surprisingly, in South Korea, buses run all day long (though the driving was a lot of work...), so you can use them even at night, and the bus fare is very, very cheap, just 2,000 yen for 3 days and 2 nights. I was able to move around the city. There was a convenience store nearby, and the front desk staff was very helpful.The triple room was on the 13th floor and was very clean with a great view.I knew this from reading the reviews of the hotel before making the reservation, but if I had to give it one point, it would beUnfortunately, the shower in the bathroom was weak...Other than that, it was great!

This is a lovely hotel- receptionists are friendly and beds are really comfortable!The location is ideal as it’s a quiet area and you can reach many districts of Seoul easily by metro or bus

If you want to receive outpatient treatment early in the morning at Seoul National University Hospital, you will probably choose Mayplace or Orakai Hotel. As someone who has stayed in both places, I compare:First, May Place's facilities are outdated and it is inconvenient to use the facilities in the rooms. Water drips from the shower bathtub and continues to drip onto the floor. If the location of the bathtub is strange, why is there a window right next to the bathtub?Second, the room I booked had a double bed and a single bed, but the refrigerator was located right next to the single bed, making it inconvenient to use, and the closet location was supposed to be close to the entrance, but it was next to the bed, which was very inconvenient. Who designed it? Or maybe they added an extra single bed, making the space unclear. My back hurt after sleeping on the mattress.Fifth, the breakfast was more diverse than Orakai, but depending on the person, there may not be a few things to eat.

Had a great time staying at Mayplace. Jay at reception was full of knowledge and helpful information. He gave us a map with all of the places he recommends to see when visiting Seoul for the first time. He even recommended us to try juk when he saw that my wife was not feeling well. This helped her immensely and we appreciated Jay’s help.

The slippers are not disposable and feel a bit uncomfortable. I think the floor would have been better if it was a floor rather than a carpet. The shampoo has a very strange scent so I wish I would replace it with another product. I like it because it’s close to Seoul National University Hospital.

Again we were greeted with super friendly staff, clear directions and helpful information on a guide map and things to see, bakeries and stuff surrounding the hotel.|Great area to explore and outside of th etourist areas.|A small tip was breakfast ends early, at least at 09:30 you should come in.

Very nice hotel with an ideal location. Good connections to public transport and a good starting point for exploring. The reception staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating!The cleaning staff is very thorough and polite. The rooms were very clean and cozy. With a sufficient and varied breakfast, a cup of coffee or tea, you could start the day wonderfully.The hotel has a beautiful roof terrace with breathtaking views. We felt very comfortable as guests! Thank you very much for the lovely time.
