Uncomfortable, not clean, and no amenities. Hard to sleep family of four, 2 in main floor and 2 in cramped loft. Loft has no head room and slippery steep ladder. Only 2 sleeping foam mats for 4 people. Other 2 had to take most of the bedding to make up for no mats. No chair to sit and no hooks to hang up clothes. No closet. All luggage on floor. Bathroom shower drains to holes in floor. No hooks in bathroom to hang clothes while showering. No place to place toiletries. Showering wets everything. Mold in shower. Lots of dirt and dust. Bare bulb lighting from 1940. Bath towels the size of kitchen hand towels. Get your own towels from an outside clapboard. Bed linen does not appear clean. Electronic devices dangle by their wires because no flat ledge near outlet to charge. Absolutely no furniture. A floor and four walls. Owner is not friendly or helpful in resolving problems. Place is nice to look at for historical purposes but not to stay at. Go to the modern high rise hotel just up street. Security is iffy.

REALLY BEAUTIFUL HANOKRoom:- We got the loft but indoor floor heating seemed to be only for bottom floor so we ended up sleeping there.- Foldable mattress, futon and padding with pillows provided (loft level had another set of futon, padding and pillows). There was aircon and indoor floor heating, both adjustable. Live TV and Netflix available but with only Korean subtitles unfortunately.- Had a mini fridge to store snacks and drinks, ot very cold but enough to keep drinks cool.- we got a towel with a musty smell, but we were allowed to just take new ones from the supply cabinet outside as and when we wanted. No Housekeeping, but the owner would leave us 2x 500ml of drinking water outside our door every morning.Toilet:Floor was laminated wood and there was a shower screen separating the shower area from the toilet bowl (with bidet!). Shampoo, hair conditioner, shower gel and hand soap provided.Sink tap and shower head are from the same tap and you could adjust the temperature.Safety:As with a traditional Hanok, the walls surrounding the courtyard are quite low so you could hear and see passers-by walking along. However, we never felt unsafe when we were hanging out in the courtyard or in the hanok with doors open. The main door is locked remotely, CCTV installed at door way and each hanok had their own number lock.Staff:- All communication was via Whatsapp so we never got to meet the owner but he is very responsive so we had no issue whatsoever. - He would send instructions and recommendations of where to eat and rent hanbok.- When we had difficulty getting to the Hanok, we called the owner via WhatsApp and he readily gave directions to the taxi driver.

The interior was no different from other houses, but even though it was a Hanok house, I was very satisfied with the bathroom because it was in good condition. When I go with my parents, I worry about the bathroom.
