Let's start with the good points first. We booked the penthouse at the top sixth floor and it was spacious, well-equipped with toys for my child, a water dispenser, microwave and not forgetting a breathtaking, spectacular view of the sea and mountains. What sets this hotel apart from the rest is its rigid policy pertaining to breakfast. The only window where food is served is 8am to 9am, the kitchen closes at 9am punctually and accommodation is made only if one implored hard enough. This is not a kid-friendly accommodation so young families who are keen to still stay here should be cognizant of what they signed up for through my personal experience. On my first morning, I had to plead loud and hard before the staff relented and allowed me to bring a sunny side to my room because I missed the window by a few minutes. As a grown up, it's fine if I do not eat. But I would really find it disdainful if my toddler is deprived of food just because I am not able to make it in time. Eventually, they permitted me to bring a miserly fried egg to my room to feed my child. On the second morning, my husband was dressing my toddler and as most parents can resonate, is not an easy nor smooth process. Seeing we cannot make it in time to be physically present for our breakfast, I headed down once again to request for some food to be taken up to the room for my kid's meal. This time, I was told every person has to come down personally. My child just pooped, my husband is showering my kid. It was 8.36am. Are we supposed to rush like hell and be all stressed up just to ensure my kid is fed? For God's sake, we are on holiday. I was told by the staff our holiday here has no business with them. Then hello, why run a business in the hospitality industry if making your foreign visitors comfortable is not your goal? Or are these folks only interested in the lucrativeness of the business that they would rather trade their customers' happiness for money? Is my request really unreasonable as a mother? Plus, it's served to me instead of buffet style so why is your team worried or fearful about serving me one or two fried eggs to the room? You are afraid the green plate would not be returned, or be stolen? If making money is more important than being hospitable, please, please, I highly suggest you consider to pivot and do something else instead of you cannot practise the simple principle of "give and take"! Perhaps none of the staff are parents, epitomised by their inability to resonate with my situation. Money is not an issue, sure we can always head out to purchase some food for my child. This is not the main crux of my nasty encounter, though. It reflects palpably the appalling void of flexibility and compassion, and how much they are willing to go to demonstrate they care. This place makes a groundbreaking impression in my memory as one that is mercilessly strict, void of charity and unwilling to make concessions unless the plaintiff exhibits sufficient desperation. I highly suggest you either seriously reflect about lengthening the breakfast window till 10am or fold your business. The green plate that you care about so dearly, exponentially more than a child's hunger and welfare, is left at your front desk near your computer. Good day.
