At 10 p.m., lights in common spaces are forced to be turned off. If it weren't for that unfriendly attitude, it would be an almost perfect guest house.

It's a nice and refreshing inn.Wi-Fi was also available, and there were many people working there.I was in the same situation, but when there were too many people on workdays, there was a lively work atmosphere even though it was on Iriomote Island, lol, and for better or for worse, I was able to make a lot of progress in my work and studies in the quiet environment. . lolThere are almost no unnecessary things, and the surrounding landscape is very simple, with a rustic garden. That's good.Everyone seems to be repeat customers. In terms of genres, there were people from various backgrounds, including bug collecting, academic (very highly educated university professors came looking for research materials), and traveler (early retirees, foreign backpackers, etc.). I've been using it and it has a nice and relaxing atmosphere. A lot of uncles. lolOn the other hand, I didn't have the girlish feeling of being capicy, but my wife is a very nice person, so I felt safe as a single girl, which was nice.I was allowed to use a single room, but if I accidentally left something sweet in the room, Arinko would come out of nowhere. Well, it can't be helped because it's nature. Be careful about leaving food unattended. My husband works at Iriomote Island Rental Car, so if you are having trouble finding a rental car, you might want to ask. I rented a dilapidated car (that's a good thing lol), but it was just what I needed, and I didn't want to use the wildcat rental car, which had gone up in price, so it was close to the old price, which was very helpful. It's cheap, comfortable, and feels good. I think it's a simple and convenient accommodation. There are some reviews that are sensitive, but if you are sensitive about various things, I think you should stay at a proper inn instead of a guesthouse.

There are a lot of insects, so I don't know if there is excrement or urine from those insects, but I was coughing a lot, and it's possible that the air conditioner was on, but the temperature wasn't that low, so it's probably hygiene management (insect control). I thought that perhaps something had not been done.

I would like to inform all travelers that although this accommodation facility sells rooms with a non-smoking rule on the surface, it clearly gives preferential treatment to smokers.First, there is a seashell ashtray at the entrance. In other words, a system has been created in which people who enter this facility are always exposed to cigarette smoke. Depending on the direction of the wind, second-hand smoke can flow into the facility from here. Whenever I passed through here, I protected myself by holding my breath and moving quickly in and out. It would have been difficult if I hadn't done it this way.You can see the ocean from the large south-facing garden, and at night you can gaze up at the night sky that can only be seen on islands floating in the sea. This is the space of the traveler's heart. The sun shines brightly during the day, making it the perfect place to dry laundry in a sanitary manner. Originally, this garden should be used in this way. However, this garden was essentially a special seating area for smokers. The space for drying laundry has been relegated to the northwest of the building under the roof of the warehouse, where there is no direct sunlight all day.Additionally, because this area has little light, even if people were standing in the garden on a moonlit night looking at the sky, it was impossible to see what was going on. As a result, I didn't notice the e-cigarettes that people who were watching the moon were secretly carrying, and ended up inhaling second-hand smoke. It was a very quiet way of smoking, so that no one else would notice. The sea breeze blowing from the south causes the smoke to flow into the Yuntaku space and kitchen area. When I stayed there, the windows were always closed. So it was a good thing that smoke couldn't get into the room from here. However, during the coronavirus pandemic, travelers were conversing and spraying flowers with the windows closed. I checked the air conditioning, but there was no ceiling fan anywhere to be found. There was also a sign on the window that said, ``Do not ventilate.'' I was surprised. Ventilation is important in environments where humans are speaking to prevent the spread of infection. Additionally, in order to properly exchange air, it is essential to open windows on both sides. To protect myself, I made sure there were no smokers outside, opened one window, and turned on the ventilation fan in the kitchen to circulate the air inside. The tourists who were spraying flowers didn't even clean the tables they had soiled. Additionally, the facility had not installed disinfectant, and there was no system in place for users to disinfect frequently. I took care of personal hygiene using the disinfectant I had brought with me.Just outside the kitchen were chairs and a table large enough for about four people. Smokers here too liked to smoke whatever they had on hand. In the kitchen, you need to run an exhaust fan to get the steam out. I was afraid of smoke coming in. Also, the space where the fire is used is hot, so I wanted to open the windows to let the sea breeze in, and then turn on the ventilation fan to create an air passage. After ventilating the room in this way for a certain period of time, cigarette smoke was pumped in by the suspected criminal from outside. I was doing cooking for a cancer diet. The laundry didn't dry very well, the clothes were heavy, and I felt really uncomfortable. When I tried to use the dryer, it was left broken. This also showed that the owner was not concerned about the health and hygiene of the guests. I cycled 2km each way many times late at night to use the coin laundry near the port. I was considerate of the island's natural environment, and instead of using a rental car, I traveled by bicycle and bus. In addition to swimming and exercising, which was the main purpose of the trip, they were also forced to do this work late at night to maintain hygiene. I had to lose 3 kg of weight without my own desire. Maintaining an appropriate BMI is essential to maintaining health. This had to be broken.Additionally, the bathroom and changing room faced the sugar cane field on the north side, and there were men who would peek at us while walking around here. Women should be careful.Tobacco poison increases the risk of breast cancer and induces endometriosis and endometrial cancer. If the body is infected with cancer, the uterus will generally be completely removed. Other problems include lung cancer, ovarian failure, decreased sperm count, and an increased risk of myocardial infarction. Furthermore, the harmful chemicals contained in cigarettes harm not only humans but also marine life. Volatile toxic chemicals deposited on clothes are washed into the ocean every time we wash them. This causes carcinogenic and teratogenic effects on marine life. The island does not have a sewage treatment facility capable of ozone treatment, so it is not possible to break down harmful chemicals and reduce their toxicity. What happens when large numbers of people spread harmful chemicals in cigarettes? I want everyone to think about this.

The hospitality made me want to visit again. As long as you don't want a hotel or a more beautiful place, you can fully enjoy the atmosphere of the island.I felt that the owner and his wife were really wonderful.I'm sure some people are curious, so there was a newt or gecko chirping inside the building.

The owner is so friendly and welcoming you can't help but love this place. The whole neighbourhood is very warm and friendly. We were wandering the streets looking for the place and someone stopped and offered to show us the way.Although there are free bikes available, many are awaiting repair. A donation box has been setup to support the efforts. There is snorkelling gear available for hire and the owner speaks good English and can provide great advice for any adventures you want to do.Nice clean bathroom and kitchen. Nice shared living spaces and dormitory rooms are clean and solid beds with blackout curtains and power available to each.Iriomote is very proactive on conservation. It is a founding darksky project member and this location supports free filtered water for use of reusable bottles and has full recycling practices.

A cozy guest house. In the summer of 2021, I stayed longer at Workation. The owner and his wife are wonderful. The inn is located a little uphill from the village, and it's a good place to spend time looking at the stars or having a barbecue in the large front garden. There are pubs and communal shops within walking distance.

Summary: perfect experience. There don’t seem to be many mainland tourists coming to Iriomote Island. Most of them are Japanese and Taiwanese tourists, but everyone is very, very friendly🫶We gained unforgettable memories in this store and made very interesting Japanese friends. It’s really great to explore, exchange world views together, and encourage each other. The shop owner is also very, very kind, always providing help, guidance and assistance with our travels on the island😻The shop is usually quiet and greets and communicates cordially. I really recommend this hotel, especially if there are tourists from mainland China who see this place, you must experience it and book early!
