Fantastic location if you want to be in Shinsekai!Scan the QR code to fill out your check in details, the staff are very friendly if you need any help. After filling out the form you'll get a QR code to get the key card from the machine by the reception desk. To check out you just put your card in another machine located next to the hotel entrance. The rooms were spacious and clean. The bathroom may be a a little cramped for people who are tall. There are free amenities on the first floor for guests and also free breakfast, first come first serve.

We booked the japanese style room with twin beds. The room was so huge that you could leave your luggages opened without tripping over them. Location itself was amazingly close to famous area Shinsekai where you can enjoy your nightlife and it was just like 3 mins walking from the train station. Checkin staff English accent is a bit hard to understand. However, he was trying his best to communicate with us and make us feel warm welcome. Recommended to stay here if you have any plans to visit osaka in the future.

The hotel has a great location on Shinsekai Street, it is easy to find. Check-in is easy upon arrival, and the staff is very friendly. The room has everything you need for a good stay: the bedding is very comfortable, the bottles of water, slippers, towels, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner as well as the toothbrushes and toothpaste are very appreciated. A big plus: a large wardrobe for storing clothes and a modern television with Netflix and YouTube. On the other hand, the air conditioning, as soon as you don't put it at 22°C, propels hot and humid air, which made me feel a little cold at night. The bathroom is also ultra small.

23 Aug 2024= 1) 17m2 room. But bathroom still same small size as a smaller room. The step is too steep, almost tripping us every time we go in & out. Too small bathroom. Smells of urine. Had to use the shower head & some shampoo to wash the bathroom floor. It still smelled of urine but less bad. The smell seems to be coming from the drain or toilet bowl. Don't know why their plumping system is so bad. The flush is also quite weak & cannot flush away the toilet paper completely. The bathtub had old stains & didn't look clean, so I didn't use to soak. Just use for showering only. 2) The foreign (non-Japanese) staff are not professional, not coordinated & not trained. When I extended a few more nights, I informed the male staff who acknowledged it. But on the day of "checkout", a female staff knocked on the door (while I was in the middle of doing an important issue on my laptop) asking whether we are checking out. I had to open the door to talk to her. I said a few days ago, I already informed the reception staff about the extension of stay. She still didn't understand & asked whether I was extending till the night. I had to show her the reservation of the extension of stay on my phone. Other hotels (Smile & APA) didn't give me any problems. Why is this hotel so disorganized? After that, another knock asking to confirm whether I wanted housekeeping when during check-in, I had already informed that I only need fresh towels etc.. hung on the door. 3) The table is positioned wrongly. The narrow end of the table is facing outside. How to sit with your legs in that tight space between the table legs? The broad side which is the correct position to sit, is blocked by the bed. 4) Many of the staff are foreigners who are not trained and lack Japanese service manners. Very cold, very detached & inconsiderate. When I opened the door to put out my used towels & floor rug, there was a male housekeeper standing just outside with the linen cart. But he didn't notice and didn't turn to greet as it seemed he was listening to earphones playing music while he was looking at a clipboard. I even opened the door a second time to put out the trash. And again, he didn't notice. Later, when I opened the door, I discovered that my new towels in a bag were not hung on the door handle, and not beside where I could easily take them in. Instead, a housekeeper had placed the bag of items on the other side of the door where I had to come out to get. This never happened at other hotels. Such an inconsiderate housekeeper. And the bag of amenities was missing a trash bag again. 5) The carpet was poorly cleaned & quite itchy. A lot of strands of hair around. Need to use floor wet wipes to clean across & then the carpet feels smooth & clean. APA hotel uses lint roller on a stick to clean their carpet, which is better. 6) Surfaces of washing & drying machines need wiping. 7) A good supermarket is not near here (Life supermarket is about 15 to 20 mins walk). Tamade supermarket is nearby but it lacks a lot of things. 8) Bed frame too big and the corners jut out. Everytime we go around the small room, we trip against the painful wooden bed corners. 9) Bathroom water temperature fluctuates uncontrollably. 10) Foreign male housekeeper kept holding onto my door and looking into the room when I asked him for new towels & trash bag. Even though I wanted to close the door, he still held on firmly to the door. Staff are not trained in basic hotel etiquette. 11) Room Soundproofing is very, very Bad. Can hear next door coughing and what language they are speaking. //// Pros: 1) Good Wi-fi. 2) Good washing & drying machines that are new. 3) Good location. But if you have heavy luggage, you cannot use the elevator outside because the train station does not have elevator or escalator to go down to the platform. So everyone who uses that elevator (Exit 3) lugs their luggage down the stairs at the station. There is an elevator only if you go to Denden town Exit 1B (beside the closed capsule hotel with the yellow sign), a short walk away from this hotel.

10 Aug 2024: 1) Refurbished old apartment building. Feels like staying above a shophouse/Coffee shop (kopitiam). The noises below. The metal hangers on each side of the "balcony" meant for laundry poles. Futon "cupboard". Presence of a "Genkan" (shoes area). The yellowing of the bathroom doors & inside. The slanted toilet bowl. The poor flushing power. Rust around the pipe rings under the basin. The bathroom door is folding type & cannot close shut, pops out in the middle. 2) No windows. Instead there's "balcony" which is dark due to Shinseikai canopy outside & hot. So with the frosted balcony doors closed, there's no window. Claustrophobic & stuffy room with a cold, dry air-con. 3) No hanging hooks. 4) No desk, no chair. The bench at the foot of the bed sinks in the middle if sitting for long time & causes backache. 5) No desk/table for eating. Sit on the floor to match a very low floor table. Very bad hotel management to let customers sit on the floor to eat. 6) Shower water temperature keeps fluctuating hot/cold by itself. 7) Noisy housekeepers. 8) A lot of space wasted by having a large storage "futon cupboard". 9) Bathroom space too small to sit on toilet & can't dry yourself after bath. Have to come out into the room to dry yourself. How about the boss of the hotel use the bathroom? 10) Hair on carpet. 11) High castle bathroom step. A step as high as steep castle steps. 12) No ice machine. /// Pros: 1) Good Wi-Fi 2) Good location 3) Polite staff. 4) New Washing & Drying machines (but 400yen for washing machine. That's 100 yen more than in Shin-Osaka, Okayama & Kurashiki hotels. APA hotel is even worse at 500yen). 5) Responsive, adjustable separate air-con unit.

We got a tatami room and it was very large. It was comfortable with a small table to use. The bathroom was quite small and old but has all the essentials. Staff was nice and friendly and spoke good English. The location was great too, with lots of food nearby. It was a bit far from Dotonbori though. The soundproofing was not so great, and we could sometimes hear noisy guests in the corridor and in the street below. Overall a pretty room and good value-for-money stay.
