We spent 7 nights at the Awera Island Surf Camp and it was an incredibly wonderful time. Pete and Inne are the best hosts you could imagine and you feel like part of the family from day one. The entire surf camp team is incredibly friendly and hard-working. The food is outstanding and the beach bungalows are beautiful. In general, we can hardly imagine a more beautiful place than Awera Island.The beaches and the sea are paradise. Pete always finds the perfect surf spot and often finds empty lineups. Within a short time, he got Leonie, who is still a beginner, to be able to stand on the board for a very long time.Thanks for the great time!

Stayed in June 2024 and had an epic time. Pete has been surf guiding here for over 15 years and it shows, he knows where the good ones are and will actually guide you instead of just chucking you in the water somewhere. Clean good accom and really good food with good portions for a hungry surfer. Thanks Pete, staff, and the fam for a killer time!

This is a must do for any serious surfer. This has to be the best surf accommodation in the Mentawais. This is everything you could ever dream of. My wife and I stayed at Awera Surf camp for 2 weeks and were so lucky to score this spot all to ourselves. The hosts and surf guides Pete and Inne were super friendly and welcoming and took us to what was the best surf I have ever experienced. We surfed twice a day and there is multiple wave options 5-25 minute boat trip closeby. Our guides knew where would work, best tides and best winds with less crowds etc.The bungalows are really nice and they are situated on the beach with amazing views of the water. It really felt like we scored a piece of paradise all to ourselves.The other staff there were incredibly friendly and the food was amazing with heaps of variety.I really am so stoked that we found this place and am absolutely frothing to get back there. Highly recommend!

Had a wonderful stay at Awera Island Surf Camp in Mentawai. Inne and her surf guide husband and cute kids were so welcoming along with the really helpful staff. The surrounding areas are awesome especially the beautiful beach and the amazing waves right in front the resort. The resort is designed to blend with the environment and makes for a quiet relaxing stay, with starry nights. Thank you Awera Island Surf Camp. I will come back.

I stayed here 2 times already. My stay experience is always memorable. The location is perfect. Once you are out of the room,your eyes are spoiled with the beauty of sea and waves. The accomodation is something unique. It is made of woods and designed in a local style. In addition, the hospitality is cool. Pete,Inne and the staffs welcome you like a family. Aside of them,their kids are also cute and friendly. I highly recommend you guys to visit this place.

Loved every little moment of my stay there. Pete is an amazing surf guide and always knew where the less crowded spots were. Ine his wife has so much great positive energy, loved to be around these two and their two kids. Highly recommend this place. Family run and all made with love :) see you guys soon again 🙏

You know a person is good when their peers rate them highly. I met 5 of his peers who all remarked that he is the best surf guide in the MentawaiIt is for a reason - he is a student of surfing, has been here for more than 10 years, and with his lovely wife Inne not only offer a great surfing experience, but a homestay to the extent that I consider this place my home away from homeThe food is excellent, nothing is too much trouble, the "staff" - I should say support team - are amazingMy daughters first overseas surf trip, memorable for her, she wants to go back. I'll be back for thirds and more!

Amazing hosts, good laughs.Polite friendly staff.Fantastic food and very mindful of my vegetarian diet.Pete's local knowledge was faultless on providing the best wave's possible.Very mindful of my surfing ability and provided appropriate waves to match.Comfortable,safe and good sized boat with shade canopy.Cabin's were spacious and cleaned every day.Laundry services provided.I'll be back again will bell's on.👍👍👍👍

This was my 9th time staying at Awera, and as always, I had an awesome trip.There is a variety of world class waves, to suit all abilities, located close by and easily accessible from the camp. And surf guide Pete, with his intimate knowledge of the local waves and weather patterns never fails to put you in the right spot for quality and uncrowded waves.Booking, payment and transfers have always been seamless in my experience. The booking manager Kav always on point to answer any questions.I’ll definitely be booking again in 2020 Yew!!
