Relaxing and welcoming place to spend a few days at the edge of Lake Maninjau. It offers three fairly spacious wooden bungalows/chalets with private balconies. The location is perfect because it is a little higher than the lake, which gives a magnificent view with beautiful sunsets.The family is very friendly and the mother cooks excellent Indonesian cuisine whether for breakfast (succulent papaya, mango and pineapple juice) or for dinner (Randang beef, green vegetable curry). The pancakes and ginger and honey teas are also excellent! The restaurant on the terrace offers a view of the lake and the surrounding mountains.Finally, the garden and its tropical plants surrounded by small rice fields form an ideal bucolic setting for rest. The price is very reasonable, even low, for the quality offered. I don't understand travelers who stay in the noisy town of Bukittinggi and take a simple round trip day trip to the lake. This place deserves several days of discovery. The family also allowed me to rent a modern scooter to discover the superb landscapes around the lake.Don't hesitate. I spent 4 nights there and could have stayed longer.

Bagoes view means good view and that's right: the view of the lake from the houses is great! Very nice houses, with a lovely balcony to enjoy the view. The food is very good, everything is freshly prepared. The location is also 'Bagoes', you can walk to the lake, shops and restaurants. Tip: we rented mountain bikes through the homestay to cycle around the lake, highly recommended!

Beautiful little homestay with only 3 Bungalows available, all very spacious new and spotless clean. It's settled in a beautiful garden at the hill overlooking the majestic Lake Maninjau. The place is very quiet and peaceful up there. Excellent service with great food and drinks, you can request special items and can even get it all served at your bungalow. Here you really see and feel that Nabila,, who is running this place was professional trained for the hotel and service industry.We had a fantastic stay of two nights and wished we could have stayed longer, as the place is super comfortable, with a good bathroom and comfy beds.A really great place to be at Lake Maninjau, we would definitely come back.

It was a real delight to spend some time at this place. The bungalows were the most spacious and nicely designed we had in all our travels in Sumatra. The whole place is built with nice materials and a great attention to details. The bathroom is spacious and well sorted as well, there is a fan in the room, and the view is absolutely incredible, probably the best you will get at Lake Maninjau. The family is very nice, the mother is a great cook, and the girl who runs the place speaks excellent English, is well travelled and knowledgeable, and has real training in hospitality, which makes a big difference. All the best from us and thank you for a great (but way too short) stay! Mihaela and Patric

For homestays that have swimming pool facilities, air-conditioned rooms, Android TV box, and free WiFi of course ๐. For those who don't like the cold, it's better not to leave the room/bath in the swimming pool, okay?
