I used this guesthouse over 10 years ago.I have fond memories of getting to know other guests and having drinks together in the common space.Since then, I visited Yakushima for the first time, relying on my memory, and found that it was currently closed.

This is a nice inn, but smoking is allowed throughout and it is full of smoke. Also, there are many cats. The staff told us not to open the windows because a lot of crucian bugs and cockroaches come in! There was a warning.

I decided to go to Yakushima for work, so I booked a guesthouse here. I thought it would be possible to eat, but since there was no food available (I think it was related to the coronavirus), I stayed overnight without meals. They said. However, when I was staying there, a few men who had stayed at the guest house for a long time and women who had stayed there before would naturally gather together, wear clothes, and eat lots of food cooked by the host's wife, and we all talked about various things. The meal was unexpected and really enjoyable. Also, he told me a lot about Yakushima, which is great! ️ and pamphlets, which was fun. After all, a place where nature and people gather is amazing❗This time I wanted to stay for fun rather than work❗️

We used the campsite and the view was great. Motorcycles are not allowed on the grass. There is a Japanese-style toilet, shower, laundry, and housekeeping area, but I can't say it's clean, but I'm grateful.

I used it when I conducted a fern vegetation survey on Yakushima. Although I only stayed at Kai-Rakuen for 4 days during my 10-day stay, I received a very warm welcome. I have stayed at many guesthouses due to my job, but it is such a wonderful place that I don't think I will find a guesthouse as comfortable as Kairakuen for the next 20 years.First of all, the host and landlady have very good personalities and are easy to get along with. On the night we arrived at the inn, we were so treated like family that I couldn't believe we were meeting each other for the first time. Also, I have a cute 4-year-old daughter, who would see me off when I left in the morning, tell me where the washing machine was, etc. She taught me how to use it and has the talent of an innkeeper's girl, so I'm looking forward to the future lolSince we were staying overnight without meals, we went with the assumption that we would be cooking a meal, but we ended up having dinner around the table with the husband, the landlady, his daughter, the people staying there, and the locals. However, I felt sorry for the inconvenience, so I offered some pasta and sashimi (lol). The rooms are well-cleaned, and there are bugs that come out at night, but that's just one thing. 10 seconds walk to the sea. At night, the sky is full of stars. It's luxurious! ! I don't know when I'll be able to come to Yakushima next, but I'm sure I'll come back again. I don't know if they will remember me until then, but even if they forget, I have a feeling that they will definitely welcome me warmly again🤫

It's the best campsite! There are showers, a refrigerator, and a cottage where you can escape even if it rains. If you swim in the sea in front of it, you'll see fish, you can snorkel, and there's even a shower!
