I tried to take a bath here on a day trip to the hot springs, but although the quality of the hot springs was good, it was too hot to take a bath. There was no air conditioning in the changing room, but a fan. However, there was a lot of dust on the electric fan. Also, the passage leading to the public bath had a hole in the ceiling and was dimly lit. If I had to rate it, would it be the quality of the hot springs? I don't want to go there again.I tried to take a bath here on a day trip, and although the quality of the hot spring water was good, it was too hot to enter. There was no air conditioner in the changing room, but there was a fan. However, there was a lot of dust on the fan. Also, the passageway to the main baths had holes in the ceiling and the passageway was dimly lit. If I had to rate it, I would say it was the quality of the hot spring water. I would not like to go there again.I want to see you, I want to see you I want to see you.I want to see you. I want to know what I want to know. Sorry, I don't know what you're talking about. I want to know what I'm saying.During the first day of my stay, I tried the Lifo hot springs, but the water quality of the hot springs was poor, but the water was hot and there was no legal entry. The changing room was closed to the air, but there was a wind fan. Unfortunately, there was a lot of dust on the wind. In addition to this, the main bathing area, the main bathing area, the corridor with sky flowers, and the light line and darkness of the corridor. It's not necessary to talk about it, but the quality of the hot spring water is good. I have no idea what to do.

I visited for a day bath at the end of September. The owner at the front desk is very nice and you can take a bath for 500 yen.If you go down the stairs and walk down a dimly lit hallway, there is a changing room, but part of the ceiling had fallen down, and the large banquet hall was like a storage room, so it was a bit scary since I was the only woman there. There are no keys or lockers in the changing room. There's no cooler eitherThe only thing there is a basket to put your clothes in and a hair dryer in the sink! There is shampoo and body soap in the bathroom. There is an indoor bath and an open-air bath that are separated for women and men, and there is a mixed open-air bath when you go down the stairs. The indoor open-air bath can be seen from the guest room (above).Because the scenery is so good, if you go to the sea side, you will see too much, so be careful. There were no bath clothes, so I brought a bath towel that I could throw away in advance.I had seen it on the internet many times, and after learning that it was a mixed bath, I really wanted to take a bath in this open-air bath, so I wrapped myself in a bath towel, put another bath towel around my shoulders, and walked from the changing room with the indoor bath down the stairs. I went to my long-awaited mixed bathing open-air bath. There is no changing room in the mixed open-air bath.I was hesitant about mixed bathing before I went, but the scenery was so spectacular that I was so glad I came. There was no one around, so I took lots of pictures, and when it finally got dark, I was surprised to see a man starting to take off his clothes next to the bathtub, but since it was a mixed bath, I was prepared for it.I can't say that the facilities are beautiful, but the scenery and atmosphere are great, and I think the quality of the hot spring water is good. It's a must-see for hot spring lovers, but it's not recommended for people who don't like cleanliness, a rustic feel, or who don't like mixed bathing.I think I have no choice but to use indoor baths only. However, I don't think there are many baths with that spectacular view.Soaking in an open-air bath while being soothed by the sea breeze, the sound of ocean waves, and the sound of the wind will be a memory that will last a lifetime.I'm glad I had the courage to go in.I highly recommend itI don't want it to disappear foreverI want to go take a bath with that spectacular view again.

I stopped by on a tour.Although the facility is old, the rooms were clean and I didn't feel uncomfortable.Although it's a mixed bath, the open-air bath has a spectacular view and I think it's worth it just for that. This time I went out to eat as I had a no-meal plan, but the restaurant I wanted to go to was closed, so I bought some at a supermarket and convenience store near the ferry terminal and ate it in my room when I got home. There was no microwave in the room, so I asked for one at the front desk, who kindly responded. There don't seem to be any places to eat within walking distance, so it might be a good idea to include meals. There are soft drink vending machines on the first floor and beer vending machines on the third floor. I think the parking space is wide.

3 star hotel? A hotel booked on short notice. The building was an old, well-established hotel that took you back in time to the Showa era. The hot springs here were hot with a lot of sulfur and a lot of iron. The hot springs were great. The open air by the coast overlooks Kinko Bay, and I was able to see Mt. Kaimondake, which made me feel really excited.

I went to Sakurajima for the first time in a while, and it seems like there are only two hotels open now, where there used to be four hotels in a row.Unfortunately, the closed hotels have not been demolished, so it is difficult to understand whether the two hotels are open. But I would like to stay there the next time I'm nearby to remember the old days.

A nice ryokan that you can actually visit without a car! The bus schedule is not on Google Maps. I used the Japanese site qbus.jp to input 桜島港 to 文学碑前 which is the stop in front of the hotel. I attached the timetable where the bus departs from Sakurajima port (as of December 2023).This bus is not the sightseeing bus so the operators might not speak English. If you don’t have an IC card you need to pay cash and take a numbered ticket when you enter from the back. The screen at the front of the bus indicates how much your fare is based on how far you ride (it increases as the stops go on). You’ll signal you’d like to get off and then deposit the numbered ticket and coins in the front. No bills are accepted and there is a bill exchanger usually but the max it accepts is ¥1000.The hotel is very charming! Our luggage arrived before we did and they held it until we arrived. The man at the front desk speaks a little bit of English. There’s a separate men/women onsen and then the mixed one outside. They prepared breakfast and dinner for us. Green tea was provided each day and new futon bedding as well. They could only offer cash on arrival delivery for our suitcases. We were very lucky that our next hotel accepted it for us! Be careful about that. The buses are very infrequent and are mostly in the mornings and afternoons. If you miss the last early one at 10am or so, you’ll be stuck in that area. The ferry is 24 hours between Kagoshima and Sakurajima though. There’s one taxi I think? No Uber ;)

It's very sad, but we're doing our best to stay open!40 years ago, this area was crowded. There were also three hot springs, but after that there was a large eruption and volcanic blocks were flying.I think it was difficult to take care of the facility.I came here to stay when it was busy. The Furusato Onsen Hotel is now in ruins, and it feels like years have passed without any changes to the hotel here.I don't think it's possible to expect a shiny hotel and service; I want to enjoy wabi-sabi.I always visit Sakurajima to bathe here, I'm a big fan of this bath!A day trip to a hot spring is only 500 yen!The view from the bath is amazing. It's hot, but it's okay if you fill it with water from the tap.A panoramic view of the Osumi Peninsula on the left, Kaimondake in the distance, and the Satsuma Peninsula on the right.Kinko Bay stretches out in front of you.A very nice hot spring is flowing constantly. An open-air bath is attached to the indoor bath for men and women. The open feel of the indoor bath is irresistible! It was a hot day and there was no air conditioning in the changing room, but if you leave the door to the changing room open and the entrance to the bath open, the hot springs are very well ventilated and you can fully enjoy the blessings of nature. isThis is a hot spring that true hot spring lovers who understand wabi-sabi should go to, rather than obsess over the facilities.Because there is an active volcano smoking nearby, it is truly the best hot spring blessed with magma! As you go down the stairs, you will find an open mixed bathing outdoor bath. There is a mixed bath right above the sea.Women should have bath towels. The scenery is very nice and the quality of the spring water is also good. It's quiet and relaxing. If you come to Kagoshima, please come to Sakurajima. If you happen to be passing by, please take a bath in this bath to have a conversation. It's on the right when you go towards Tarumi from Sakurajima Ferry. This is the last scenic hot spring for those taking the ferry from Shibushi!Having been to various hot springs all over Japan for over 40 years, I absolutely recommend this hot spring. Please everyone take a bath so that this nice hot spring doesn't go out of business.

Used for day trips. Although the inn is undeniably old, the customer service is courteous and the cleaning is thorough. As it was a very hot day, the front desk advised us that the open-air bath might be hot because there is not much shade, but the open-air bath had a fair amount of shade from the trees, and we were able to fully enjoy the dark brown sodium chloride spring water. Of course the view is amazing.
