1) arrived 18/9 on a very hot and humid afternoon, the front desk lady (wearing eyeglasses, quite tall, speaks chinese) didn’t even say hi or whatever to welcome us. Sure, it’s not the usual hotel we know but…2) Room- SPACIOUS for the usual Japan accommodation, hence choosing this hotel. But my husband found a pacifier under his bed when he was picking up some of our coins. My side, on the other hand, has nail trimmings on the floor that’s definitely not from me. The room stunk, we couldn’t believe it coz it’s Japan— to the extent we kept smelling ourselves if we’re the reason or maybe it’s the furniture (stale sour smell) but no! It’s a mix of the bed and carpet!3) garbage disposal- we did ourselves and we didn’t mind at all. But when we ask the same front desk lady, she just pointed “down there”. Thankful to her gesture though, coz I don’t understand mandarin a lot.4) left 25/9 same lady at the front desk who was speaking loud at the phone (what a surprise to hear someone talk loudly in Japan!), my husband and I said goodbye and smiled and didn’t get a nod or an acknowledgment that guests were leaving. There was a guy beside her and didn’t care a thing.Didn’t complain or say anything the entire time we stayed there. Why? coz there’s no one there every time we’d go out.

Ueno Station is a 15-20 minute walk. Ambiguous distance. The facilities weren't bad. Clean.

Quite large room by Japanese standards with a balcony in a very quiet location. We could even sleep with the window open! Self-catering option with refrigerator, microwave and hotplate. Simple but everything you need is there.Unfortunately, there was sometimes a strong smell in the toilet shower cubicle. We ventilated a lot and left the door open, then everything went well.

It was actually a great place to stay. They seem to have resolved all the issues other reviewers are mentioned. Located in a peaceful area but close to transportation. We loved hanging the small kitchen in the room. Room itself was actually not that small compared to usual Tokyo rooms. Free laundry downstairs.

I stayed for 5 nights in total. No toiletries such as toothbrushes and razors were provided (only towels, shampoo and shower gel), and there was no room cleaning service. For those who need to stay for more than 2-3 days, there is no room cleaning service. It will be inconvenient to accumulate a lot of garbage..
