A day-trip hot spring near Kanzanji Temple is reasonably priced at 1,100 yen. Moreover, if you use the Shinkin app, you can get discounts.

Coupon for fast travel. I was informed by the tourism association that there was only one-day bathing available today, so when I went there, it turned out to be a closed day. I think it's the hotel's fault, but it was very disappointing.

I selected Hotel Kikusuitei based on five factors which I will detail. It’s location, there are rooms available with both dual Western and Japanese styling sleeping areas within the room, and the dinner (package) is served in the Japanese area, and because of the #30 bus stop across the road.Firstly, I need to say that the staff were helpful and genuinely friendly (I enjoyed talking to them), and is a contrast IMO to the large hotel chains. The location was perfect for us. It’s outlook of the bay from the hotel rooms, onson and lobby is just fantastic, and when also walking along the seaside path towards the main town area. We got the breakfast and dinner package, so proximity to restaurants wasn’t much of a consideration, but there are some close by (there’s an eel/unagi restaurant next door). We got the public #30 bus from the city centre to the stop outside and opposite Hotel Kikusutei which was a convenient transfer option. The bus continues past the hotel, stopping at the amusement park, and to the town centre. In the other direction, it also stops outside the Hamamatsu Flower Gardens (don’t try and walk there like we did!), which is very unique and I thoroughly recommend. The traditional dinner served in the Japanese section of our room, and the breakfast served in the large common area, are culinary delights, but also a Japanese cultural experience (it feels so much different to a restaurant, particularly breakfast patronaged by families having a relaxing meal together). Cultural experience is the fundamental reason for our visit. There is a separate onson on the roof top for male and female guests. The onsons are aesthetically pleasing and provide beautiful views of the bay.The last point to highlight is unfortunately negative and it did significantly impact upon our stay. The Japanese section of our room was fine and as expected. However, the Western style section of the hotel room were not to our liking. They looked ‘just OK’ in the photos when selecting the hotel, but felt so much worse when experiencing it in person. Like it was original from the 1970’s. It just has an overall grunge feel, notably the bed covers furniture and carpet. But also the room design is bad with the shelves and TV used as a division, and the (very worn) metal hand basin in the corner. Even worse was the overpowering (damp) smell of the green carpet in the lift. We had to hold our breath before getting in. The hallway carpets of various patterns and colours also had that smell, to a lesser extent. It’s a large issue and I belIeve this hotel is way overdue for a renovation to rooms, but also the hallways and lobby to bring a consistent unifying colour tone throughout. I would feel bad if I gave it 3 stars because I loved the positives so much, so I give it 4 stars. But we’d only stay again if it had been completely renovated.

I used it on a family trip.It was my daughter's birthday, and we talked about cake and other items, and even though I didn't order it, she offered me juice and a commemorative photo as a celebration. I was happy with your consideration. We also had a chance to use the private open-air bath, which had a nice atmosphere, and my daughter seemed to have fond memories of it, too, and said she wanted to stay another night.I would like to repeat it again.
