Hands down the best food I had in Takayama! The green curry was incredible. The owners are so sweet and couldn't be nicer. Most authentic and fresh Thai food in Japan. Everything on the menu can be made vegetarian. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back! (They also have a guest house close to the JR station)

Super friendly and helpful hosts, clean rooms in traditional style, and centrally located in Takayama (though not that easy to find as the guesthouse is located behind a big parking area). Also provides an attached Thai restaurant that offers quite delicious food. Had to share the bathroom with another couple, but this was unproblematic. Still, we found the guesthouse a little bit pricey given that we even had to make the beds by ourselves. But overall a good recommendation if you're staying in Takayama.

Worst Thai food ever. Ordered for Thai green curry and was served chicken soup(had hint of green colour from the veggies). There were 4 couples including us in the restaurant and we all were served within total 5 min by one lady who was cooking(actually re-heating), serving, managing the restaurant and attached hotel at once. Serving in 5 minutes means she already had the dishes prepared and only warmed them and quickly mixed accordingly. So we ordered 1 Thai green curry(chicken soup) @1200 yen and pad Thai @1200 yen, juice 300 yen, extra rice for our baby 200 yen(which we thought was complimentary). The owner said portions were large hence costs high but the pad Thai was just small.I know the hosts are kind but simply doesn't mean u fool people by serving chicken soup and claiming it is green curry.

Didn't try the guesthouse, but the food was excellent! Freshly prepared, good portions and great seasoning. The owner is always open for a chat and has interesting stories (and business ideas :) ) to share.A welcome change of food if you are looking for a break from traditional Japanese cuisine

Finding vegetarian/vegan food in Japan is hard. However, this restaurant is an excellent option as they can cook most of the meal without meat. The owner is friendly and helpful; he even opened his restaurant for us just for lunch. Would recommend people to eat over here when you are in Takayama.

Very nice atmosphere and good Thai food. Very few seats, so you might have to wait outside if you come when there's a lot of people. The waiter was a very nice and funny guy, but had a bit of problems keeping up with the pace, so the serving was a bit all over the place. That was charming, but could have been a problem ;)

We went there to this restaurant on a Sunday. We didn't read up that it was closed on Sundays. But the lady owner happened to be there and welcomed us in! She cooked for us delicious Thai food (generous proportions) and was very warm and chatty. Highly highly recommend this place.
