An inn that miraculously had a vacancy at the last minute during Golden Week. There are various reviews, but if you are staying overnight without meals, the hot spring bath is sufficient. Much better than staying at a business hotel that never came. It's a little far away, but I'm glad they let me park my bike in a covered area. It's close to the morning market, and just a short walk will take you to the station and Takayama Betsuin, so the location is very good.

On a positive note, the location is good. The rest, however, is negative and the message being 'don't stay here'. Unlike some other reviews, I didn't find the owner 'friendly'. In fact, he was surly when I was there. We were on the 3rd floor and there were 7 people sharing ONE toilet. The showers, (unisex and public) were on the ground floor with access to the hot spring pool, which was small and dingy. The place was freezing but a Kerosene heating had been lit in our room and it gave off noxious fumes that nearly suffocated us. It was also an absolute fire hazard and as far as I could see there was no fire escape from the 3rd floor in case of an emergency. There was not a cup or a glass in the room and while we were part of a group staying here there was no evidence whatever of any food being provided. There was certainly no sense of a traditional welcome in a local hostelry where one might eat with (or without) the family. It was the one black spot on our lovely trip to Japan. I would not recommend this accommodation and I seriously don;t know how any Japanese Tourist Authority would pass it fit for purpose.

You can use the parking lot for free, and the morning market is nearby, so it's convenient for sightseeing.I booked a cheap plan for a room without meals from a travel reservation site, but it didn't have a refrigerator. Unfortunately, we were the only guests staying in the room, but we did not have a room with a view of the river. The cleaning of the room and toilet seems to be poor. The bath was nice, but there was no dehumidification or cooling equipment in the changing room, so it felt like a steam bath.I was supposed to have told them my arrival time, but when I called them at the door, they didn't come out, so I called them and finally got them to come out. When I returned to the entrance after checking the parking lot, he was gone again, so I wish he had at least waited until check-in was over.

Is it true that it is a three star? When you arrive, the key to the cash register is handed over to the foreigner. The TV is in a place where it will fall on your head in case of an earthquake, there are no tissues or razors, and there is no body soap in the bathroom. Not a towel with a name on it, but a tattered towelNo safe or refrigerator (¯-¯٥)The breakfast dishes were all prepared from the supermarket in the hallway the day before. The miso soup had bean sprouts in it, the rice was soggy, and I didn't even say thank you to them on the way home.It was the worst.
