The check-in went very smoothly, with a person speaking very good English (not common in Japan)The temple is clean, very well appointed, if your room does not have a shower, the shared bathroom is magnificent, large and clean. You just have to reserve your shower slot. You have to make the most of the activities offered in my opinion. That's why I got up early to go to 7 a.m. prayer and 8 a.m. meditation. It was incredible! The only downside was that our room had a strong smell of humidity. But that didn't stop us from having a good night's sleep.

Unforgettable experience staying in a temple hotel. We booked the room with a private shower and it was huge. It has an anteroom, a hallway that runs through a beautiful garden and a spacious room with two comfortable futons on the floor. The decoration is austere but with everything you need to enjoy your stay. There is a minibar, complimentary water, slippers (shoes are left when entering lockers), hairdryer, etc. In the common area there is a kitchen and a living room in case you want to have something to eat there (there are many restaurants nearby) or a coffee. The reception is cordial and friendly, they explained the history of the temple to us and invited us to morning prayer. You can meditate or do some activity with them but they have to pay. Very close to the station, 5 minutes walk and all places of interest.A unique experience that must be lived.

It was an amazing and very unique experience with insight into Buddhism in Japan. We stayed there for 2 nights and had the opportunity to participate in morning prayers, meditation and yoga classes. The host (Buddhist monk) and staff are nice and warm. Morning meditation session with the monk and stories about Buddhism were unforgettable. We really enjoyed the tea ceremony which was extraordinary and brought us one step closer to Japanese culture.

A beautiful historical temple close to the train station. A short walk away from a large 7-11 and the main streets. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly.I had the small room as I travelled alone and it faced the street but it was quiet. The room was clean and lovely. Unfortunately, I didn't have a Japan adaptor and the room does not support USB port charging so do bring your own adaptor. The bathroom was shared for the small rooms but as I was the only guest in the small rooms I had it all to myself. The bathroom was super big with an amazing tub and great water pressure. The shared living/kitchen space has a large fridge, a microwave and eating utensils. Normal tea and coffee are available or you can pay 100 yen for a Nespresso pod.I attended the morning prayer the next day at 7am and it was an amazing experience. Prayer and chants were on a laminated sheet so I could understand and chant along. I also paid for the sutra copying experience and the head monk was so encouraging and friendly. I would love to come again!I especially enjoyed reading the in room Buddhism booklet that explained all the intricacies and differences for Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines.
