I made my first reservation in 2018, but since the coronavirus pandemic hit, I have canceled and made repeated reservations💦I was finally able to stay in 2023 ^^ (Information as of 2023)We reserved the ``Kogetsuro Seika no Ma'' room, and the view of Honkoji Temple and the clear stream Arajigawa from the main room is a great photo opportunity ^^You can slowly soak in the splendid open-air bath made of cypress while feeling the warmth of the warm wood. There is also a footbath next to the open-air bath where two adults can soak side by side, and being able to talk to each other in a very comfortable atmosphere will create wonderful memories ^^The food was also very luxurious and delicious ^^ At that time, I chose the surprise plan and received chopsticks as a gift, but it was a really wonderful time ^^I moved to a private room for both dinner and breakfast, and was able to enjoy them in a relaxing and private space, which was very nice ^^We rented kimonos and stayed at Yassankan on the day of our walk around Furukawa^^.The next morning, we took a cycling tour of Furukawa and thoroughly enjoyed walking around the streets of Furukawa^^If you want to enjoy Furukawa to the fullest, please come! We recommend staying at Yassankan ^^Furukawa is a very nice town ^^

Very nice experience in a place of tradition, high-end service without a charming village. We particularly enjoyed the gourmet Japanese dinner and the onsen.

Spending a day in a typical Japanese ryokan from the 1800s was one of the most poetic and magical experiences of our lives. Although beautiful, the photos do not do justice to the atmosphere we breathed, every detail is pure Japanese magic. Nothing and no one prepares you for the kindness and affability of the Japanese. as it is written in the presentation of this place dating back to the Edo era, it is not a "fashionable" place but a place to reflect and enrich the eyes, mind and body of the nature and culture of Hida and its inhabitants. We will never forget our stay and truly hope to return!! Ps- it's absolutely not a 3 star...it's worth a lot more 🫶🏼

The rooms, service, and food were all good. Kaiseki was a dish that couldn't be tasted at other ryokans because it consisted of local specialties. I plan to come again someday. The bathhouse in the room has a really nice atmosphere.

I highly recommend it to those who have been to many ryokans. When I traveled to Hokkaido, I went to Noboribetsu Takinoya, Hanayura, and Yufuin Ikkoten in Fukuoka, but I think it would be great to come here when you get tired of ryokan kaiseki. The kaiseki ingredients were very fresh and the food made with local specialties was very good. The grilled whole sweetfish filled with roe was particularly impressive. May you prosper and be healthy!

This is a long-established inn that has been in operation for eight generations since the late Edo period in Hida Furukawa, which is famous for the Furukawa Festival. The old building, ``Shogetsuro'', built by a Hida craftsman, is a registered tangible cultural property of the country and is very atmospheric. Not only do the guest rooms each have a different style, but the entrance and lobby are wonderful, and the open-air structure of the Shogetsuro is a must-see. It is also good that there are plenty of public spaces, such as a simple library and a large rest area. As it is a Japanese restaurant and inn, the menu changes every month and the dishes are very seasonal (it was September and the theme was moon viewing), so I had a lot of fun and delicious food. Although the bath was carried out, I was able to relax in the hot springs.Above all, all the staff members, including the young proprietress, served customers with natural smiles and I was very impressed. He has a wealth of knowledge about the cuisine and the region, and his love for the local area is wonderful. This is a wonderful inn that makes you want to visit in all seasons.
