Owner is helpful, but limited english. He is quite helpful, even when there is a language barrier. Would have liked a bit more information/help during dinner and what is what at the dinner. Papers in English is posted everywhere else but the dinner. The entire ryokan is rather old, but the bath is warm and just what you need after bicycling an entire day! The rooms are in much better condition than the "common areas" and are without a fault except for the shower area which have not aged well. No matter, since the bath is what you use anyway! The views are amazing!

I really enjoyed my stay. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. We cycled late into the night and also it was challenging to find a place to eat. We called them when we realized that we would get there late. They were lovely and lets us check-in past the deadline time. The futon was super comfortable and the facilities were excellent. There were some really nice touches - the tea box, efficient lighting and the tea room (balcony/smoking area) I wish I spent more that a night there because the view was gorgeous. Must tries - the public baths (it had lemon slices), the tub and the plum wine. I loved this place!

Great accommodation to be in, especially when you are exploring the Shimanami Kaido by bicycle. And what better to have a good soak in the onsen and have a hearty kaiseki for dinner. …

The dinner and breakfast were of very high quality! We were served sashimi, crabs, sea snail, and pickled squid. The sashimi was amazingly fresh! After that we had stewed fish, tempura, rice and dessert. Breakfast was self grilled fish and perfectly cooked rice. The best was the coffee after. The premise was rather old, but... There isn't much better option on the island.

It is a nice and classic hotel with public n private bath. It is a good opportunity to relieve any muscle sore from the bicycle ride. Right in front of the port for ferry to Onomichi. …
