We stayed at Tabist Setouchinoyado for 1 night in August 2024 in order to visit Okunoshima. It is a quiet, relaxing hotel right by the sea.There are few trains and buses so please be careful with the timing. It is about a 25-minute walk from Tadanoumi Station, or a 10-minute bus ride. Once you descend the slope driveway, the bus stops are to the right, near a small beautiful beach.Check-in is 15:00-22:00. We checked in right at 22:00 (we alerted them beforehand), but the receptionist kindly offered to let us use the showers before she closed them. We stayed in a Japanese-style room with futons on tatami. We sleep in futon at home, but they may be too firm if you are not used to it.The hotel provides slippers, yukata, toothbrush and toothpaste, face and body towels, a hairdryer, a TV, a small clothes drying rack, a kettle with cups and green tea, and a mini-fridge. There are common shared toilets (Western and Japanese-style) and lounge areas with vending machines and massage chairs (for only 100円 I recommend it).The only showers are in the onsen area which closes at 22:00. There is a men’s and a women’s bath. The hotel provides shampoo and body-wash. The view on the sea is amazing in the morning, it was a great start to the day.

Book at Jalan, cash only.There seems to be a Japanese-style room and a Western-style room.My guest room was a Japanese-style room with an out bath and an out toilet.Sheets and towels are changed every 4 days.Toothbrushes are not replenished, so if you are concerned, please ask the front desk and they will take care of it for you.Although it is an out bath, there is a large public bath with a view on the second floor, so you can relax very much.We recommend taking a bath at dusk as the view is very nice.There is a sign at the entrance of the hotel, but the road is narrow so you should drive slowly.The response from the front desk was very nice.

I came to this hotel because I wanted to see Okunoshima, the rabbit island. I was a bit worried because of some of the reviews. But I had a wonderful experience staying here. My first time staying on japanese futon with tatami mats on the floor. A beautiful ocean view, lovely tea set with green tea provided and a beautiful bathhouse overlooking the ocean. The staff were so friendly and helpful and solved any problems I had. I was going to just stay for 2 nights but I decided to stay for another 2 nights because I liked it so much. If you are fit it is a nice 20 minute walk to the nearest town where you can get the ferry to rabbit island and has shops and small restaurants. Otherwise there is public transport. This was my favourite place on my Japan trip and I would stay here again. I think the rooms are fantastic and the price is very reasonable.

I went in March. It said there was a large public bath, so I made a reservation on the same day from the travel website for a room without meals.When I contacted the hotel to inform them that my travel plans were delayed and that I would be arriving after 10pm, they told me over the phone, ``It's okay to come at 10pm, but the bathhouse will close at 10pm, so you won't be able to use it.''Also, I was told that I could use the washroom in the changing room even after 10pm, but the lights were off and only water was available.If there is a restriction on usage time, I think it should be clearly stated in the details of the travel site (there was no mention on any site)I was able to take a bath the next morning, but I wouldn't have stayed at this hotel if I couldn't use it at night.We also stayed in a large room with 3 people, but the room was not like the one in the photo.If the room is different, I would like you to post a photo of the large room as well.As everyone has said, the outside scenery is very nice.

Terrible in everything.The room was shabby and dirty. The walls are also thin. Corridors and toilets are also filthy. Communication of information such as bath time is also not allowed. There's really nothing to praise. It's better to sleep in the car.Travelers, be careful.
