Each dish is carefully made with great care. The new rice cooked in a Shigaraki clay pot was really delicious, and I ended up refilling three bowls. We will visit you again during the autumn foliage season!

The peace and tranquility of this guesthouse are unparalleled. It offers a unique blend of traditional Japanese architecture with modern amenities, creating an atmosphere of quiet luxury. Jun-Chan's personal touches are evident throughout, from the fresh-cut flowers to the meticulously chosen Shigaraki-yaki ceramics. The kaiseki meals are prepared with care and feature organic, free-range ingredients, including teas and coffees. The fish is caught by Mat-Chan from Osaka Bay, bacon is smoked by a local neighbor, and the free-range eggs come from another nearby farm. Even the salted sakura blossoms are grown in their garden. They even have their own hives with the gentlest bees. This stay ranks among my top five experiences in Japan. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, so I’ll let the images speak for themselves.

If you love peace, quiet and delicious food then Taraonoie is the perfect getaway. The 150-year old Kominka is elevated on a small incline above the neighbouring houses and has a lovely view. The house has that rustic charm with tatami and original features throughout and is very comfortable. The best is the host. Matsui-san prepared delicious local rice which had a wonderful aroma and taste. Various Nanzenji tofu from Kyoto, local caught small fish and amazing nabe was superb. Both the husband and wife hosts are avid music lovers and are very charming and friendly. We loved it here and we highly recommend this guesthouse - you will not be disappointed.

I cook my rice in a clay pot, so I was looking for an inn that was particular about their rice, and I discovered it on Instagram and decided to visit it.Not only the rice but also the side dishes come from people around Tarao's house whose faces you can see, so you can eat with confidence ^^Everything was delicious and I was very impressed. It is a place that I would like to visit again.

The rich local ingredients and deliciousness of the rice, the comfort of an old folk house, and the warm hospitality of the owner were all wonderful! It's close to Shigaraki, so we stopped by for Omi beef lunch on the way home, and there were lots of fun things to do!

We are particular about ingredients from Tarao, Shigaraki, and Koka, and the carefully prepared meals and location are as well as the owner's cheerful personality.A place where you can forget the hustle and bustle of the city and relax.Since it's locally produced for local consumption, you might expect to see so-called country cuisine, but instead you'll find a variety of stylish and original Japanese-Western dishes...and you'll want to drink some alcohol🍶They are very particular about everything from the tea they offer, the coffee they serve after meals, to the matcha sprinkled on their desserts, and when you listen to them, they will passionately explain each and every detail. It was also a fun time✨Check out the antique lacquerware and tableware made by Shigaraki artists that the owner has collected over the years.
