I made a reservation for a classic twin, but I was changed to an upgraded room.I later found out that the classic room was the same as the previous hotel before it was renovated, so I was wondering, but thank you for changing me to a beautiful room ^ ^ Lake Biwa and Nagahama Castle in a corner room It was great to see both views.I wanted to try all kinds of dinner and breakfast buffets, but there were so many items that I couldn't finish them ^^;The Salmon Benedict was especially delicious. I was looking forward to the Omi beef shabu-shabu, but on this day I had the Omi beef meat tofu. I wanted to eat shabu-shabu. It's a little disappointing, but the meat tofu was also delicious. The public bath was large and the hot spring water warmed me up.However, there aren't many washbasins or hair dryers despite the large number of people, and it takes a lot of time especially for women, so I wish there were more.I also appreciate the all-inclusive and free table tennis table. The parking lot is 500 yen for 30 hours, and you can come in and out as many times as you like.I would like to stay again.

Not sure what people’s expectations are for “Grand” Mercure are but I have to say I was quite baffled to learn that there is no in-room dining available and the only “inside” food option for dinner and breakfast are buffets. If you plan to stay here, make sure to keep that in mind. The shop down stairs sell beer but no substantial food other than crackers crisps and souvenirs sweets. Some website state this hotel is listed as 5 star or 4star. I understood that in-room dining was a requirement above 4 stars and above..The room we stayed was “basic” though not in a poor state. The facility has too few elevator and a long queue tend to form when busy.Adding to the above, Guests, please note they do not service for your room during your stay unless requested. I hope they do provide this for free when asked.

It has the advantage of having a wide variety of food and alcohol, but it can be a bit hectic, perhaps because there are too many people using it. Also, it is difficult to say that the room condition is very good.

I got the information from Daiwa Royal that it became a Mercure, and I have stayed at Mercure all over the world, so I was looking forward to going there, but it was the worst hotel, impossible. Good luck signing a license agreement with Mercure, which is truly impossible. It's just a family hotel. Only the rooms above the 10th floor have been renovated, and the rooms from the 9th floor down are dirty old rooms. Don't be fooled by the classic rooms. The elevators are old and there are 3 of them, but they don't work at all. I will never go there again. The degree of disappointment is terrible. I'm sure overseas customers are also very disappointed and will not return again.

I went on October 10th. I went to a hotel and was offered a room that was a step up. Thank you very much. It's a place where you can be satisfied with everything. I am very glad that I came here. The surrounding environment is wonderful. It's a place where you can relax.

I stayed there recently. There was a foreign female staff at the front desk, but the customer service was so disappointing that I thought they should be taught proper manners and courtesy. I didn't feel the hospitality at all and was disappointed even before I stayed. When I checked out, they threw the returned room key to the side and left the receipt on the counter, which made me feel very bad until the end.I knew it was an old hotel, so it was fine, but the cleaning was so bad that everything was dirty. There was a window overlooking Lake Biwa in the hallway after getting off the elevator, but the frame around it was covered in dust. Also, the carpet and wallpaper are really dirty...these should be renovated before renovating other parts. Also, the windows in the room were dirty, which was a shame even though Lake Biwa could be seen right in front. I also found some medicine from a person who had stayed there before coming out of a chair in the room. What kind of cleaning do you do?The final touch is the dining venue. The table position in the area that has been beautifully renovated is too bad. The arrangement is similar to that of a company cafeteria. The view of Lake Biwa is ruined. Also, when I eat at the buffet, the order of the food is strange. Drinks are everywhere, but they are placed in strange ways. And the selection of tongs and ladles for taking meals is also tricky. I can't cook well. It looks good, but it's not a big meal. Also, foreign customers left their unfilled glasses everywhere, so it was very dirty... there was a lot of food on the counter, and there were hardly any staff looking around. It was crowded at breakfast time, so I was asked to go to the banquet hall, but since it was too far to go to get the food, I told them I would wait until a seat in the area near the dining area became available. Please look for it yourself.'' I almost freaked out...I was told to find an empty table on my own, like a battle for a table in a crowded food court on the weekends. The parent company has changed, so it's a rather strange hotel. The quality of the staff also varies. It claims to be all-inclusive, but it's more like a business hotel, and it's full of drunk and annoying old men. I think there is no need for a hotel manager who is completely unsuitable for the name Grand Mercure. Also, something needs to be done about elevator congestion. It's a shame that we weren't able to take advantage of the great location. I will never go there again.I'll add it if I remember something.① The tableware in the dining hall is scattered all over the place, and it's located low so it's hard to get to and you don't notice it.② For breakfast, natto was served on a large plate... It looked dirty, it was difficult to remove, and there was a sense of stinginess that could be seen everywhere.③The steps in the Japanese-style bathroom are quite large, making it dangerous for the elderly and small children.④The exterior of the hotel (the part that is clearly visible from the parking lot) is also very dirty, full of spider webs and dust.⑤The elevator was crowded so I used the stairs, but the stairs were dirty as if they hadn't been cleaned...⑥You can't get a child's toothbrush unless you ask the front desk. Adult toothbrushes are foreign size and are extremely soft, making them extremely difficult to brush. It is better to bring your child's toothpaste.⑦ Since there is no time limit for using the lounge, there are many customers who stay for a long time (drinking alcohol endlessly), so people who check in late have no choice but to give up.

Although it will open in April 2024, the building is Daiwa Royal Hotel Nagahama, which opened in 1987, so it is not new. The interior is also decent. Please understand this before making a reservation. The homepage looks very good.If you come by car, a parking fee of 500 yen will be charged (pay later). If you pay at the payment machine in the hotel first, you will be able to enter and exit the room as you like during your stay. If you plan to go out by car during your stay, please pay in advance. There is no staff at the entrance, and there is no escort to the guest room. The style is to carry your own baggage. Although there are a reasonable number of rooms, there are only three elevators, so it is difficult to ride during busy hours. The all-inclusive option (lounge, dinner, and breakfast included) is a plus, but I don't think it's a good idea to have too high expectations. It's not bad by any means, but I think you won't be disappointed if you consider the food, seating, and especially the customer base to be on par with Yukai Resort. It's a free drink, so I think it's good for people who drink alcohol. Choose your own table. The restaurant faces Lake Biwa, but you won't be able to see anything after dark in the fall and winter, so you don't have to be sitting by the window.Breakfast is busier than dinner, but on busy days we also use the banquet hall next door, so there's no need to get up early and wait in line before the doors open. Please be careful as the lid of the drink cup you take home can come off very easily. As other people have written, the rooms labeled "classic" are the same as they were at Daiwa Royal Hotel. We decided to stay in a Japanese-style room, but the futon was already laid out from the beginning, and I thought it would be like enjoying a bath. The TV was small, the refrigerator was empty, and everything was classic (lol).Amenities other than towels, yukata, and toothbrushes were taken from the shelf next to the front desk. No room service. To check out, if you have already paid in advance, simply put your card key in the box in front of the front desk. The car will not open unless you get a ticket at the gate at the end. There is also a hot spring, so I think it's a hotel where you can spend a reasonable amount of time as long as you don't have too high expectations. It may seem harsh, but it feels more like a Yukai resort than a fancy hotel owned by a foreign company.
