good points・Close to Yuigahama Station・Close to Kamakura Daibutsu and Hase KannonBad points・The fire alarm cannot be pressed and the power is not turned on. People who don't want to die should not stay here.・Wear the same slippers from the entrance to the bathroom to right next to the bed. There is no raised stile at the entrance to the room. I ended up walking right next to the bed wearing slippers that probably had urine on them. Is this style normal for Americans? I don't know what it is, but it's extremely filthy. By the way, the slippers were also black and filthy.・I was asked to show my ID. There was nothing written about this on the reservation site. I'm glad I happened to have it with me, but if I can't present it, will I not be able to stay? Why don't you write it on the reservation site? ? ? It really doesn't make sense. I think you should focus more on one thing and not get into unnecessary business. By the way, even if you check in after hours, it seems that everyone's ID will be taken and sent somewhere.・The worst part is that even though it's called a B&B, there's no breakfast. I have no choice but to laugh.・The whole place was filthy and my image of Kamakura has changed. I hope that there won't be too many accommodations like this.

The price is cheap, accessibility is good, the accommodation is clean, and it was nice to be able to experience a tatami room. The staff is also friendly. What was disappointing was that towels were provided for a fee and the soundproofing was not good, but on the day I stayed, everything was quiet and I was able to have a comfortable stay!

i feel sad for having to leave such a negative review. the room we stayed in smelled absolutely terrible, not sure where the smell came from but it was so uncomfortable and we avoided staying in the room for too long. our room was located right next to the busy street so we felt bothered by the traffic noises. service was terrible! we got charged 200¥ for each towel, weren't even able to purchase a laundry wash (overpriced) because staff was somehow never present in the house and hard to contact. air conditioning was old and hard to use despite the unbearable summer heat ... i wish b&b yuigahama would improve their service a bit more since the 2 night stay was not cheap to book at all. we were also asked to do self check-in if we arrived past 4pm, requiring us to send photos of our passports and a form, then waiting for the staff to contact and confirm us, which seemed very unprofessional to us... the location was great though - barely 10min walk from the beach, and located right next to a convenient family mart as well as a 2 minute walk from yuigahama station :)

In summary, B&B Yuigahama’s unprofessional, control freak, customer service ruined my overall experience.PROS- Decent location on Yuigahama-dori. Minutes walk to the Enoden line station.- Reasonable middle-tier niche pricing. Kamakura has a number of luxury resorts and cheap dorm style hostels, but unfortunately lacks middle-tier “business” hotels.CONS- Flaked on check-in. I was due to arrive at Kamakura in the evening. At first, they messaged that it’s after hours so I will have to do self-check-in. Then they followed up saying that staff will be present until 22:00. I arrived at 20:30, but nobody was present.- To make matters worse, I had no room # or key. I called the listed phone number and spoken to a Japanese staff worker with poor English abilities. He said to receive a key, I have to fill out a form and email a pic of my passport. They should have informed me if this requirement way in advance, not at the last minute when I’m in limbo waiting in the break room.- I stayed for 1 week. After 4 days, I asked for a change of face and body towel. They said they charge for a towel change, which seems absurd. Even more absurd is that they claimed that they typically don’t include towels with room & board, but gifted it to me since I’m staying one week. What lodging doesn’t include towels for guests?? I messaged that I will mention this in my review, and their tone shifted to hostility.- The bed sheets are a dark brown color, which I believe to be a conscious effort to disguise filth. I found long female hairs on my sheets three times.- The bed “mattress” was a thin foam providing little cushion for my body against the wooden frame. Because there were 2 beds, I stacked up both to provide tolerable support.- Room tatami was plastic and also dark brown in color. It’s hygiene while barefoot is questionable.- Room window faces Yuigahama-dori, which is a major Kamakura street. If sensitive to noise, definitely bring earplugs. Light blocking curtain wasn’t bad though.- My final day I checked out of my room early in the morning and left my bags in the break room. I later got a message inquiring whether the bags were mine. Strange as I already gave them a heads up that I would leave my bags, and have seen other guests do the same thing. They messaged me again in the afternoon saying that my bags must be picked up by 15:00. Their stubborn insistence on rules at the tail end really soured my overall experience. It was unnecessary and unprofessional. It pains me to write a negative review for a small, independent hotel, but the truth will help make their operation better for travelers in the future.

Visit in 2022I stayed here for in-house training. It is located a few minutes walk from Yuigahama and close to Enoden Yuigahama Station. There is a delicious izakaya run by an affiliated company on the first floor, and it is a compact but beautiful space. There is no bath, only a shower room, so some people choose to use the hot spring facilities at Inamuragasaki.Thank you for your help.
