The cleanliness of the facility and the friendliness of the staff were good. However, I was disappointed with the late night snack. Dinner is ¥2000 and comes with unlimited refills of rice and miso soup (self-service). It's a style where you grill 2 pieces of fish, 2 sausages, and some vegetables yourself in the hearth. The miso soup was so thin that I thought it was water, so I wish they would have at least added some dashi stock. The wiener was also not crispy, which was a shame. I could enjoy the flavor of the grilled vegetables, but the rice didn't go well at all because the only thing that came with the rice was fish drizzled with soy sauce. Even foreigners started pouring soy sauce on their rice for dinner, which was so boring. It was too poor for a ¥2000 dinner. The concept of ``dinner around the hearth'' is wonderful, but I thought it would be sad if people from other countries thought this was Japanese food.

We’ve only had great experiences with hostels/ hotels in Japan so far, but the rooms here are super musty and bedding gave both of us a stuffed nose and difficulty breaking, most likely due to dust. Wouldn’t stay here again.

A great experience for us as we usually only use hotel rooms or apartments. The futon beds are quite hard but authentic, the rooms are quite spacious but loud and bright. Bring ear plugs and sleeping masks. …
