The room was very clean and comfortable. The public bath is also clean. You can also use a private open-air bath for 300 yen. What is disappointing is that the waiters were inexperienced in serving customers during meals, making it difficult to have a smooth meal. But other than that, the staff was friendly and it was a great experience staying in an amazing hotel with a long tradition.

My stay at Mikawaya Ryokan was wonderful. The place was beautiful, the views were breathtaking, and the service was outstanding. The onsens were great, but it was the staff who truly made the experience special, they were incredibly thoughtful and friendly.

We stayed for 1 night, and it was fantastic. Very traditional, and accommodating. We were running a little late for a train and one of the staff gave us a lift free of charge, didn't catch your name but incredibly grateful. The onsen (private) was great, the beds were comfy, everything was clean and tidy, welcoming marble soda and tea cakes were delicious.Dinner set menu was great, really enjoyed the hot pot and sushi. The hotel also had a gift shop and museum.Breakfast we opted for a traditional Japanese version which was very authentic and probably an acquired taste for most western breakfast pallettes but was a new experience for us.

We had a stunning 1 night stay at the Ryokan, definitely a highlight of our trip. The staff were all so welcoming and kind, and the dinner was delicious! The baths were also great, and having a private bath attached to our room was such a luxury. The Yukata robes were so comfy to dress in!There was a bit of a mix up with our travel when leaving, but one of the staff was so kind to drive us to the train station we needed - saving us from missing our connection ❤️❤️Definitely recommend!

We were blown away by the quality and quantity of the food provided, and attentiveness of the staff. They were having a promotion with free entry to the water park Yunessun down the street, which was surprisingly so much fun as two adults. We had the lowest tier room but it was still so beautiful. The waterfall is an easy short walk away and so peaceful. So sad to leave !!

A great break from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. Easy to get to (bus stops directly in front of the property). Private villa was simple but having a private outdoor osen was really nice. Traditional dinner was some of the best food we had on our trip. Beautiful property with attentive staff that spoke English.

What a great time it was! A night at the ryokan, a 140-year-old cultural property, was an unforgettable experience, and the friendly service I received from the beginning until I left was truly impressive. Both the food and the hot springs were excellent, and there was nothing lacking in either of them.I had a hard time choosing which ryokan to stay in in the Hakone area, but I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to spend a special time in a traditional atmosphere!I will definitely come back next time!
