When I took the elevator down after a friend's reception, I found the lobby crowded, but an employee told me in a stern tone not to stop there. Is it because of the lobby, which is too old-fashioned and cramped to claim luxury? Once you're done with your business, you're no longer a customer!

Super location. Nice trendy hotel with lovely bars and restaurant. Helpful and friendly staff. Great rooftop bar for a cocktail at the end of the night. Stayed for 5 nights in a superior room. Spotlessly clean and all the amenities we needed whilst away from home. A great base from which to explore Tokyo

Great rooms, resto and great staff. Always a smile, top down , bottom up! The hotel is away from the crowds, the lights and the noise however only a 10 minute walk to action passing the Shinjuku subway along the way. The small lobby area does get busy at times but it was not bothersome. All around excellent.

Good location, but I found the room details to be lacking. Additionally the check in process and service is beneath a hotel of it's class. The Kimpton was definitely the most disappointing hotel of our trip.

Beautiful hotel with great decor and a perfect location. The bed was very comfortable, though the room was a bit small. The service was excellent—the concierge went above and beyond to help us reschedule our dinner appointment since not everyone spoke English. Overall, a fantastic stay!

My husband and I had a wonderful time on our first trip to Japan and staying at the Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo. The hotel was in a great location and the staff could not have been nicer. I specially want to call out Laura Bai in Concierge. …

Friendly hotel with English speakers. Room is comfortable, cozy and tiny.||The hotel provides some additional amenities like in South East Asia such as bath salt, gifts and free minibar so for Japan standard this is new. …
